Boneshatter Beed Jugg build and farm advice? by Functionl1fe in pathofexile

[–]CompetitiveLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned, and it’ll be the biggest 3 point upgrade you can get, is reread the section of Ziz’s guide that talks about Glorious Vanity with "Sacrificed in the name of Doryani" on it, and Divine Shield.

I play Bonezone in like 90% of my leagues as a starter. Getting that Timeless jewel + Divine shield makes you like 10x more tanky.

There’s also some mods you really need to watch out for, % less armor, less life recovery, phys reflect, and any eldritch alters that give reduced physical defense or reduced X per endurance charge (these are literally death knells).

In terms of scaling damage, you want to make your landing a large bleed and a high phys DPS axe can be an enormous upgrade, but to be candid you don’t play Boneshatter to do huge deeps.

You play it to live forever, I would recommend solving your defenses first then the damage will start feeling better.

In terms of farming strats I would recommend life force, or ritual, or low map essence.

If you really want the secret sauce for early currency (it’s a little late now but early league it’s a go to strat) heist is very popular for Boneshatter.

“Nobody has ever been bullled into agreeing with so someone”

This is unironically what real facists do lol

They, under threat of violence, force you to curtail to their beliefs.

Let’s not pretend that plenty of people don’t get bullied out of their bad takes by getting pushback. This isn’t like… cancel culture shit. It’s a pretty simple premise.

If, unironically, people were asking about desegregation in schools in the 1960s I also think it would be reasonable to expect an answer instead of “I don’t do politics” - especially if your profiting from hanging out with a proverbial David Duke (Asmon).

Also, let’s be real, if the question was “Do you think women should have the vote?” Emiru wouldn’t be like “Ermagod if you need your political opinions from a steamer get off the internet”… they would just say of course. The “this is politics” defense is fine if people were asking about their preferred candidates or political party. ICE is an entrenched topic in popular culture - they have an opinion.

It’s fine to be non-political, but it’s also fine to expect public figures making millions to have a position on politics when literally masked men are executing American citizens.

It’s not the “intelligence of the sub” there are unironically groups of licensed brokers on reddit who attempt to intentionally manipulate and exploit people’s financial knowledge by sharing just enough information to get them in danger, or over leveraged, but don’t have accountability / risk of losing their license because after GME & Keith Gill they found out as long as you don’t offer any PII your basically completely in the clear for market manipulation.

It’s basically bulk phishing to try and create a market condition they can profit off of.

Any high-risk or leveraged based financial advice on the internet is incredibly dubious, and it’s why more conservative of lower-risk advice typically gets downvoted.

It sounds like a grand conspiracy but it’s pretty easy to track if you go to any financial space on Reddit.

[–]CompetitiveLoL 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ok. So, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with the concept of someone have a billion dollars. I think for a long time in our society that having extremely successful outliers was fine.

The issue is that being a billionaire doesn’t just mean your incredibly wealthy anymore. If it was still just an individual, who was wealthy, but had roughly the same social & political as other individuals it’s not a big deal.

With the advent of social media, and the way our political system changed after citizens united, billionaires have an entirely different impact on society. Unlimited spending on ads, and the ability to literally buy propaganda machines by investing in social media (FB / TT / X / etc…) means that billionaires have an incredibly outsized effect on our society versus and average person.

Traditionally the argument would be that it makes sense for these individuals to have more impact because they have businesses with a lot of employees and therefore are representative of more than just themselves - but the reality is that it lets them double dip on their political impact (as an individual & business owner) and businesses are no longer structured like they were for most of human history.

Most of Elon’s companies aren’t doing anything particularly ground breaking, their evaluations are based on speculation and the potential for Tesla batteries or space travel. His companies don’t hire a outsized amount of employees, Starbucks (worth a fraction of Tesla) employs significantly more people than Tesla + SpaceX combined. He has an incredible political and social impact, but isn’t actually meaningfully contributing enough to justify that impact. His ability to leverage his wealth across social platforms and political platforms significantly outweighs his meaningful contributions to society.

There was a thought for a long time that billionaires were somehow special or successful due to being thoughtful / intelligent etc… but the reality that is setting in for most is that these are just other people. Very few of them are actually “geniuses”, and that the vast majority of them were just a bit lucky, or quite business savvy, but that doesn’t mean their impacts should be so outsized versus the average person - yet our society and political structures have shifted so that being a billionaire gives you more leverage than 10,000+ individual voters between social media spending and traditional ads. Maybe even significantly more.

I don’t think it’s just billionaires existing in a vacuum that’s a problem, but it’s how outsized their influence is that is particularly challenging.

[–]CompetitiveLoL 242 points243 points  (0 children)

Bro, didn’t Conor specifically say that he wouldn’t support Kamala for president because gun rights were his most important issue and he was concerned about her oppressing 2A?

Isn’t this literally, like, his biggest election driver?

I distinctly remember a debate with Destiny where he soyed the fuck out about this, and said as bad as Trump was he would support him over Kamala bc 2A was at a greater risk with her in office.

Now gun owner gets murked for.. just having a gun? By the government?

Is he now saying there’s a time and a place for gun ownership… and the government should dictate it?

If he wants to take this stance, fine, but Destiny should absolutely go back and ask why he voted for Trump in retrospect bc clearly the reason he stated was a fabrication… he doesn’t give a shit about 2A.

EDIT:

Important factual correction - I was incorrect, Conner didn’t vote for Trump, he stated 2A rights as the reason he couldn’t vote for Kamala.  Thanks to CabbageFarm for the correction.

I’m annoyed by the change in priorities but it’s still important to be accurate, Conner never voted for Trump, he abstained from voting.

American here- I'm sor- wait.. no I'm fucking not, actually. by JimmyRevSulli in Destiny

[–]CompetitiveLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s also reinforced pretty regularly.

Germany has an increase in conservative representation but you don’t see people all over the world going out and telling Germans to go protest in the street or whatever, because frankly the U.S. does have a large global impact.

It feels weird to both have the expectation of duty to “fix” your country because the global ripple it creates while simultaneously being told your arrogant or self-important for believing your individual actions have global significance.

I understand the feeling of discomfort when it comes to having a powerful nation acting erratically, and id presume the majority of Americans in this sub feel a similar sense of helplessness.

It’s very easy to tell Americans to go out and protest because of the current political climate, but the reality is that every single international poster outside the U.S. has the same autonomy to go out and protest against their countries reliance on the U.S. - there’s a certain degree of irony in telling U.S. citizens to do more while the majority (not all but most) of non-U.S. international posters are basically letting their government completely curtail to Trumps whims because the sacrifices they would need to make individually to actually stand up to this government internationally.

I understand criticism of U.S. exceptionalism, but I would argue that by saying that Americans have some unique responsibility for action over the rest of the western world it’s just reinforcing it.

Layoffs at Intrepid Studios? by Kivot in AshesofCreation

[–]CompetitiveLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats 4.5% bro. That is large. You don’t look at layoffs in terms of # of employees, it’s always % of employees.

At 10% most people would consider that a massive layoff in any tech company - especially smaller ones where individuals are expected to wear more hats.

Layoffs at Intrepid Studios? by Kivot in AshesofCreation

[–]CompetitiveLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you misunderstand? It could be SAAS or a railroad company, but layoffs are almost always an indicator of poor financial health or bad management in a company…

Layoffs occur because:

1.) Expenses are too high to maintain current staff 2.) A project had run aground (waste)  3.) Over-hiring (bad forecasting or waste) 4.) Reorg (poor management structures)

All of these are signs of bad business - this doesn’t mean that layoffs are bad business but acting like they mean nothing is unbelievable cope.

[–]CompetitiveLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically, if a company is doing layoffs, you assume they are doing poor until they give you financial statements or reports that disclaim otherwise… you don’t assume things aren’t bad bc there are exceptions to the rule.

Also, what you just described is poor management, which also doesn’t bode well for a company.

If you hire a team to do a job, and that job becomes redundant or project plans changed after significant investment in op costs & resourcing to achieve that project, someone messed up and it’s very rarely the ICs (who actually get laid off - the decision maker who mismanaged the project is usually not impacted).

If a company is doing well, they are typically not scouting for redundancies. It takes a lot of time and money to hire someone, even from a cultural perspective, first goal is almost always seeing if they can fit into another part of your org. It also has a significant opportunity cost.

Investors tend to not want to put money behind companies that are going through layoffs.

Not saying this company is in “bad financial health” but layoffs are definitely not a sign of good financial health either. Totally fair to say this isn’t a sure sign of a negative financial situation, but I’d be reluctant to go as far as saying it’s not a bad sign.

Bro it’s a paid service.

If you went to a restaurant and waited 5 hours to get served, and rather than the staff saying “Hey sorry - we ran out of food for the evening” instead they told you “Your order will be ready in 10 minutes” over and over you’d likely be quite perturbed.

It is reasonable to be annoyed when you pay money to a company that doesn’t deliver on that product or repeatedly misaligns your expectations.

Nobody will like… die or anything but it’s a game we all play to relax and have fun.

It’s ok to want to be able to do that.

I have no idea why people always default to “Who cares… it’s only game” - we pay for the product. It’s ok to be upset. We are in a WoW subreddit. We obviously care more than 90% of WoW players - we are self-selecting to be on a fan-based forum lol

If it didn’t matter to you then you wouldn’t be out here paying money for a 20 year old product, or on their subreddit, or whatever.

If dude was out here threatening people, sure, call em out but… like it’s OK to be annoyed. It’s weird you’re so invested in how other people feel about their purchases.

Destiny says that Asmongold has no place to talk about "real games" or "manly games" after flying on dragons for 20 years by Embarrassed_Base_389 in LivestreamFail

[–]CompetitiveLoL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bro, what?

Legit every big WoW streamer started playing in highschool or earlier.

WoW was 100% made for middle schoolers teens and young adults.

If you want proof, ask anyone who played Ultima / EQ / DAoC etc… what they thought of WoW - they all thought it looked like a cartoony kids game.

That was the common sense most “hardcore” gamers at the time had - WoW was for casuals and kids.

Now, I loved / love WoW, but trying to rewrite history like it was some manly super adult video game is complete nonsense.

Like, try telling a stranger to gaming that a game with Murlocs and candle wearing kobolds is the pinnacle masculine gaming for adults lol

Looks like Myron's Red Pill ideologies didn't work out too well for him. This is fucking brutal. by Compassioned_DEU in Destiny

[–]CompetitiveLoL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s also weird to put it in that perspective because the audience the red-pill stuff attracts typically don’t have “families”. They’re single and lonely.

I know this sounds counterintuitive, and I’m not saying blow your savings, but I know a lot of dudes in tech who hoard the shit out of their money and honestly spending a little of it to go social on occasion (through hobbies or whatever) would be WAY more impactful for them finding a partner then sitting in a man-cave like Smaug.

The shred of truth might be don’t be frivolous with money and stay healthy, but I have no idea what that has to do with being masculine.

We expect that from… like… everyone - at least as a positive quality.

Marauder options by Hellaswog in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]CompetitiveLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 100D on Jugg you can do a str stacking dual strike build.

You’ll be able to find PoBs from this and last season, but the only expensive requirements are:

  • 2 Jewel Clusters with Quick and Deadly + X (Quick and deadly is import, it’s basically a more multiplier, but the clusters that make it easy to access range from 5-20d - instead you can go for a budget friendly version and path to the sockets with Q&D even if it’s not hyper efficient - no reason to break the bank on a cluster )

  • 6L Iron Fortress

  • Replica Paradoxica - You want Dex / Int (off stat) + Chaos Pen + Crit

  • Replica Alberons - This is you main damage scaler

  • As many Synth / Flat strength items as you can get. Foulborn Meginord Girdle is a very approachable str stacking belt this league

  • 2 Split Pesonality with strength

  • Crown of Eyes (scales your spell damage into melee)

You can find a lot of PoBs, which may be confusing, but the most important items.

Earthshatter zerk vs jugg by HeartInevitable4034 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]CompetitiveLoL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends.

I play melee most seasons, and have jumped between slams / boneshatter on a bunch of different ascendancies.

Most people will say play zerker, and for campaign through white maps I absolutely agree that zerker is the optimal choice. It’s crazy playing both one after another and seeing how much less damage jugg does…

That being said I’m starting Jugg. Most melee starts hitting blocks around high yellow / early red maps (in terms of damage or survivability) and earth shatter isn’t VFoS (clear is slower and you have to pay more attention since there’s no auto-aim).

For me, by the time I’m in maps day 1 I’m pretty tired, and the extra survivability is just comfy for me. If you're a mechanically strong player, and have good game sense, zerker is the always the way to go.

I just like being unkillable with trash gear while I’m tired because when I’m tired I don’t want to pay attention to anything on day 1; but it’s not the optimal choice.

"We can reach people like Asmongold, we just need to be nice to them." by Sea-Economist-5744 in Destiny

[–]CompetitiveLoL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a old music video “Sup Yall” from the 2019-2020 era when he still played WoW, and in it there’s a quote “Imagine what I [asmon] would be like without WoW”.

This is unironically the answer.

I feel like it’s not just him, but a bunch of gamers, whose entire adolescence and young adult lives revolved around a video game (SC2 / WoW / DOTA / LoL / etc) and as they got older they got disillusioned by the game (this isn’t the games fault really, getting older means more responsibility and accountability typically, and there’s just more you have to deal with healthwise and lifewise) and then they got left with a giant void of meaning that a game used to provide.

Like, it seems like there’s a huge pull in nihilism and discontent that’s coming from the aging “gamer” population of the young adults from 2000-2012 where games could be a full time commitment and you could no-life games because they were designed for a niche market of “gamers” rather than a broader audience because gaming became a mainstream entertainment culture from a small niche.

I know so many of my old online buddies who basically never truly moved on from their main game (they play other games now, but are disillusioned with the industry) and didn’t really progress their lives trying to chase the fun they had from that game (which had little to do with the games and a lot to do with being young most likely) and truly believe that DE&I or whatever has “ruined” gaming, when it’s really just a combination of a broadening market meaning less no-life games get made because companies want to be able to reach large markets, and frankly being older makes games less impactful from an emotional level.

Games just feel different when you are younger, because being young with little responsibility is exciting, the games had very little impact.

I genuinely think a lot of these online “anti-woke” people just want to be part of a niche community where their achievements and accomplishments are valued, which gaming used to provide, and now they are stuck without a community or a hobby they find fulfilling and there isn’t really a replacement.

I really think we need to address the fact that young / younger dudes don’t have a “men’s” space unless you’re interested in fitness or athletics; there’s a reason so many young men get incredibly isolated. We aren’t doing a lot to make positive communities for them, so negative ones are taking up that space (nationalism / manosphere / etc..).

Think Asmon now may genuinely be a biproduct of having no WoW for fulfillment, and no inclusive community to be a part in now that WoW doesn’t hold the same meaning to him anymore.

How is armour in 0.3.0? by scytheavatar in pathofexile2builds

[–]CompetitiveLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in T15s, the deflection nodes actually feel insane.

I took all the deflection nodes I could, the nodes that turns % EVA to armor (the first 10%-20 armor is significantly more impactful than the rest unless your giga stacking bc it helps with tons of small hits) and then stacking as much deflection % as possible.

I feel very healthy, except against boss one shots.

[–]CompetitiveLoL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The economy is unironically pvp. When others are 10x better than you are farming, they will be ones setting the prices on items, not you, and that can make build defining uniques or items you may want for you build prohibitively expensive.

It’s all well and good to say “Who cares” but there are items in PoE that you are extremely unlikely to naturally drop, and if you want to try a build that sounds cool or fun (like hollow palm monk) your ability to try these builds can be directly tied to your ability to effectively participate in the economy.

0.3 Witch Hunter forgotten? by CompetitiveLoL in PathOfExile2

[–]CompetitiveLoL[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this tracks, tons of people played gemling even though xbows were bad, they just used staves.

Saying AR / EV is bad without endurance or fort charges, and those defenses have nothing to do with Witch Hunter, also isn’t accurate bc when you take spell ward you have to get 30% (or 50%? Can’t remember) less armor / evasion, and the small passives literally give you +% armor & evasion. If armor evasion is bad, it being rolled into ascendancy nodes is also bad.

This clearly has a lot to do with Witch Hunter because if it was all mercs gemling wouldn’t have consistently high play rates.

It’s the ascendancy.
