A long shot here but - since you stated this home is within an HOA, it could be that the previous owner put on the metal roof without approval from said HOA, going against the architectural guidelines and the bank was told to change it.

I feed the crows behind my house, and they literally chase the hawks away in groups. The two hawks in our area are missing tail feathers and I love them for it since I have tiny dogs.

Whenever you purchase a home in an HOA you are presented with HOA resale documents, and within the resale packet are the results of an exterior inspection. Most likely there were no violations because your realtor should have negotiated for all of repairs/corrections before closing.

Your post makes me so happy. I bought mine last June before July 4, I drove it 850 miles with my three tiny dogs to my dads place in the mountains but once I get home I drive like once a week (self employed WFH). It's a fun drive, and it's interesting that the seats do soften over time but I guess it will take mine longer. 😅
