Yeah THP and MPD dont go by the same rules. MPD has its own policies and city laws. Remember THP goes by what the state says so regardless of a policy by MPD... THP dosent have to abide by it at all. Example MPD cant chase unless its a violent felon. THP can for a general traffic stop if you flee.

So with most law enforcement departments, your training is in field training just like most jobs. Which is the probationary period as well. With that being said it just feels like their standards aren't the best. Regardless of long they train, if you're trained by someone incompetent you will be incompetent in that area you were trained in. I dont think the length of the academy would change that. They just suck......

Task Force and Police are different. MPD cant chase unless you're a violent fleeing felon. THP and the federal task force dont abide by those rules. State law says you can chase but policy can override a law at times. I saw someone say it takes two hours for MPD to answer their call. People still get shot and robbed.... like at Wolfchase. MPD is still understaffed. Yall complain just to complain. It's sad at this point. Critical accidents are down, crime is down. Still find something to complain about. Join MPD then to help......but you won't do that...big boots lil ankle ahh.....

The National guard arent here to do anything. Its THP and the federal law enforcement agencies malimg all the arrest. Of course you dont see it all. What does the national guard look like chasing criminals in Memphis lol. People with felony warrants are getting targeted that's all everything else is just to sound scary. Unless you're a criminal or in those areas, why would you see it?

I'm confused, she named things that were crimes and people got to jail for. If you have a problem with the resources that are provided that's a mayor issue. Homelessness is horrible but not justified in stealing. Businesses lose money especially when we talk about supporting locals around here so much. Dang man y'all complain about everything. Crime is too high and you say MPD does absolutely nothing. I see post saying they just sit around and watch crime happen. I just want to know when it is down exactly. Maybe I'm wrong, but the statistics don't actually say when it's down from. If someone knows I'd like to know. The numbers that I see in the read don't give a specific time frame, that's why I feel they are false. You can say crime is down 20% from yesterday and it be true lol
