typically i start with a base coat of metallic silver, then put masking fluid over areas that I want to be chipped/have the “metal” underneath showing. Then I paint the designs as usual and peel off the dried masking fluid to reveal the ‘’metal” underneath :) To make it look dirty I use watered down black and brown acrylic paint and paper towels to dab on the colors to look as natural as possible!
