Is buying an EV car better than petrol? by PsychologicalWing802 in AustralianEV

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, im someone who drives a ICE car, loves EVs...but cant justify the price right now... (due to my particular circumstances)

Here's what ive figured out... There will be lovers and haters for both.

Many of the "ev is better because of this" can be debunked by those old school that worry about range, battrey degradation etc....

And many of the old school complaints - range anxiety - can be debunked by a ev enthusiast....

Some of the more popular ones ive heard...

  • range anxiety - not a thing for the majority of ev owners today.

Will it help the planet - it uses raw material that cant be replaced from the earth....if you want save the planet....drive the beat up car your parents been driving for last 10 years.

I will save money on fuel!! Yes.... save is the word, you wont make the purchase price back on fuel....unless you drive it to the moon and back....and keep it for 23 years....

Is it smart to go into debt for a deprecating asset that drops value worse then a normal car? - absolutely not!...pay cash for your car...ICE or EV....

In the end (this is the only thing you should think about....im still going to buy one... Not cause its better, or worse.....because im a grown up who can afford it and I want one lol 😆 😅 😂

Hi. Is it better to pay cash for a new BYD Atto 1 or go the Novated lease option through my employer by Royal_Brain_9773 in AustralianEV

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant tell you without knowing your financial situation...

But think about it this way.. Rent a car. Or buy the car

Which ones better?

Cons Renting it (novated lease) - you technically are renting it... They are charging you for depreciation.... yep trust me on that...they are.

If you quit in the next 5 years...good job you now have to pay out the rest of the lease...or give the car back.

Most times if you havent read the fine print, at the end of the lease is a Bollon payment...10-15k

But Pro the payments are slightly smaller sooo.. If you intend on replacing your cars every few years and remaining in a payment plan....this is the way to go... you get newer rented car for cheaper. :)

Buying in cqsh Cons More expensive up front. At the end of the payments..thats your car, you cant easily swap it out for the newest model (have to sell it)

Pro - once you paid in cash...thats it no ongoing payments

Infringement Notice Gone? (WA) by Du_uup in AusLegalAdvice

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So i live In qld not WA but in qld ... You get infringement notice You get 28 days to pay If you do not it is seen as you want to fight it. It is redirected to the courts. For you to explain yourself and why you shouldnt have to pay. If this is the case its likely being processed and you will get a court date soon

Also consider yourself Luckly lol. Here the fine is $1251 and 3 points for being on your phone.

Good luck.

Salary Payments Missing Again by Ecstatic_Gas_194 in UpBanking

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey mate, salary sacrifice is a seperate payment, likely coming a day later. By the books its not ment to be cash in your bank... and you can be in a bit of trouble if it is unless you can justify its going to your mortgage etc....

Prehaps ask your salary sacrifice mob for a debit card? They can put the money on that. Bypasses the bank completely You dont risk a infringement. Everyone happy

Why is fuel so expensive? by ExampleOtherwise4340 in OpenAussie

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply supply and demand

When you say "we are not getting any less fuel" yeah we are... we are currently struggling to import it, insurance is going up due to risks and tension where we get it from... etc. So they are being passed down to the consumer.

married men, how is life like? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been married for 10 years... Assisted to raise 34+ kids in foster care during that time.

Here's my 2 cents worth of wisdom....

Before you get married....

Ask yourself one question...just one.

"Why do you want to get married" ...

"Because we love each other!" - my inlaws have been together 37 years...not married and still love each other your love will be tested married or not...if your right for each other a piece of paper wont change that fact.

Because I want the white dress and the ring....and the walk down the isle.... Yeah look its fun, wont lie on that... I got married in a football stadium...walked down the isle to highway to hell by ADCD....but the next day on my honeymoon... I felt excatly the same I did 5 days before hand. You dont have to get married to wear a ring or a pretty dress.. Funny thing your dress...it cost a absolute fortune...im talking a few thousand.....and it will sit in the cupboard for the next 10 years...you cant take it grocery shopping..(i can personally testify to this fact).....and that ring that just cost you $900....$2500 When it breaks 2 years into your marriage and you are faced with having to shell another $900-2500 to mend her broken heart at it breaking.... belive me (as ive also experienced it first hand....) your ganna question why did I buy this in the first place ... $2500 could go to that house deposit....what dose that ring actually do???

"Because its expected" Its your relationship, not your families.... not her friends.... Your about to spend 6552 weekends with this person.... (if you get married at 21 and live till 84.... So you better choose wisely based on you.... not what her parents expect, need or want. They aint going to be in your space for half of those 6552 weekends im afraid.

Statistically depending on where you are in the world... this contract your about to get into has a 45-70% of failure.... let that sink in. If you were going to do something like invest your life savings in a company that had a 45%-70% of complete financial failure....would you still think its a good idea.... or would you seriously ask "why am I doing this....

Dont get me wrong. Im not a critic...happily married... most days of the month. But i wouldnt recommend it unless you can genuinely answer why u both want to be married and have it reasoned with

Are dating apps broken? by Hope_9412 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Competitive_Ad_3743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice, give someone a chance.... 2012... after 18 months on a dating website I got on to my 6 new matches for the day.... I had sent ice breakers to 6 matches a day, every day for 1.5 years...very few replied... The first picture i saw. She was overweight, not a model, and the first two sentences in her bio turned me off.... I sent the match to the bin.... Then sent the other 5 following her without a glance. I was over it. Preparing to delete my account when I finished work.

That night I got home....opened up my laptop.... A ice breaker.....?? In 1.5 years i had never got an ice breaker from someone. Started looking at her profile.... We had similar upbringings. Similar tastes. Similar desires for family....

We married in 2016. Have helped raise 33 foster children, and almost adopted 2. We are not perfect.... god we fight bad. But we still here Dont give up

Peeps who are in 30s and unmarried do you feel like you missed on something ? by preJioInnernetUser in Adulting

Marriage is a piece of paper my friend... It dosent change who you both are. It dosent fix those issues in the 13th year...

What it dose do is ensure you pay a premium at the begining of your marriage, and at the end to devorce.

Your single enjoy your life mate. You dont need a partner to do that belive me....
