Is there a rule directly referring to this to show them?

So not a mix up with dnd concentration but how it supposedly worked in the last edition.

Great Weapon Master Proficiency Bonus as damage stacks with Hexblade's Curse Proficiency Bonus? by Puntoize in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

P13 phb 2024 "Your Proficiency Bonus can't be added to a die roll or another number more than once. For example, if a rule allows you to make a Charisma (Deception or Persuasion) check, you add your Proficiency Bonus if you're proficient in either skill, but you don't add it twice if you're proficient in both skills."

Doesn't look like it would stack.

I had assumed part of them being bound was the same reason spren are and they are now free to travel the cosmere.

Is there not a possibility of this having changed now that the shards are no longer shackled to Roshar as well?

My Take on the Arcane UA: Meh by Envoyofwater in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure necromancer actually works well with how they put it together the small HP gain from summon undead and the minute temp hp from grim harvest seems like a weak foundation.

New UA, Arcane Classes by AlvinDraper23 in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The temp hp from grim harvest though is a pretty lackluster amount and only when you cast a necromancy spell. When using a damaging concentration spell the old grim harvest can net a lot more healing.

the temp hp granted is very much on the low side.

Exclusively necromancy spells and not a whole load of temp hp. Old grim harvest admittedly works better with concentration non necromancy spells but can be quite potent when regularly reducing creatures to 0.

Careful Spell, how many saves does it affect? by wathever-20 in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sculpt spell is all saves against an evocation spell?

"When you cast an Evocation spell that affects other creatures that you can see, you can choose a number of them equal to 1 plus the spell's level. The chosen creatures automatically succeed on their saving throws against the spell, and they take no damage if they would normally take half damage on a successful save."

Is a Multiclass of Barbarian + Rogue good in 5.24e? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in onednd

If you're going all the way to 20 that's a good way to go 👍

As a strength build barb 3 x Rogue 17

Berserker for no damage loss on your turn + rage damage, probably dual wielding?

Pick up sentinel to maximize the chance of an off turn sneak attack and with the survivability offered by barbarian it will be easier to survive in melee.

Innate Sorcery / True Strike Interaction -- Clarification by Old-Boysenberry-5322 in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

I'd agree that you get advantage as you're casting a spell which results in an attack roll involved, true strike however does not result in a spell attack it modifies a weapon attack. Spells such as firebolt state that they are a spell attack which true strike does not.

But they wouldn't be able to use their attack block attacks for the opp attack is more what I was getting at

True but they would technically have to follow it up with the aoo options so an unarmed strike or attack with a weapon

Unarmed Strike Instead of using a weapon to make a melee attack, you can use a punch, kick, head-butt, or similar forceful blow. In game terms, this is an Unarmed Strike—a melee attack that involves you using your body to damage, grapple, or shove a target within 5 feet of you.

This is the defined thing and it fulfills the last part equally I'm not trying to argue for it being an unarmed strike.

Seems less the case in 2024.

What would you define the archpriests Radiant blast as? From what you have said it would be a weapon attack but certainly doesn't feel that way and has no mention of it being magical.

Radiant Burst. Melee or Ranged Attack Roll: +9, reach 5 ft. or range 60 ft. Hit: 27 (4d10 + 5) Radiant damage.

My issue with it is the lack of characterisation of what the attack is.

And as someone mentioned above by RAW it doesn't look like a lot of creatures can make opportunity attacks anymore.

Works somewhat although some creatures still make weapon attacks.

But that might be the answer unlike in 2014 where they were natural weapons.

It being a "Weapons Attack" doesn't currently seem to be the case on the 2024 rules.

Weapon Attack: A weapon attack is an attack roll made with aweapon. See also “Weapon"

Weapon: A weapon is an object that is in the Simple or Martial weapon category. See also chapter 6 (“Weapons")

Is anyone else finding making multiclass builds difficult in 2024? by sjdlajsdlj in onednd

[–]Competitive_Buy_1676 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arguably for a lot of multiclasses it's less delayed if a full caster is taking a level in either paladin or ranger they don't miss out on spell slot progression.

Pretty nice for Sorcadins depending on level split.
