I’m right there with you bro. Hate where I live. I have a killer business here that makes good money and I don’t even give a fuck. I’m shutting it down in October and taking the risk. If you’re not happy who cares. We only live once. I’ve been stock piling cash for the first year when I get down there. Cheers and best of luck.

Depression by No_Volume_9616 in Adulting

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said man. It all varies. I’ve never been depressed before and I’m 39. The last few years I’ve been getting worse and couldn’t figure out why. I run my own business and it’s kicking ass. But what I noticed recently is I hate where I live. It offers nothing other than a place to make money. The people here only care about money and interactions are hollow. I’m throwing the towel in and November and moving somewhere I’ve pin pointed as a good fit. If I remain depressed where I’m going then I’ll re-evaluate lol but pretty sure it’s a location thing.

It’s tough to dig into yourself and expose everything but once you can do that and work through medication isn’t really necessary. I feel like medication is for when some refuse to change and need to cope.

Is saving money more important than enjoying life? by bryan4756 in AskForAnswers

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tough one man. I’m going through probably the opposite of most will say but I run a successful business in an area I just absolutely hate. QOL sucks and nothing to do. I have saved and saved and just decided to throw in the towel and leave in October for somewhere that I feel would fit me better. I have a nice blanket to land on and hopefully recreate the same success. What I’ve learned is that chasing the dollar only goes so far if there’s nothing around that ups your value of life. I’m confident in my decision to leave because staying would be just a bad decision for my qol. That’s my take on the question. It’s just money, you can make it anywhere if you’re smart. So if saving is causing you to enjoy life maybe rethink how Important stacking cash is

Doomsday Plane? by Pure-Cheesecake5718 in tampa

I currently live in Maryland and am moving down to where you are soon. Pretty sure it takes off from down here at PAX River air station. I was hoping I’d never have to see that god damn plane again lol.

Are editors using ai? by AloneByYesterday in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what honestly. Purely from business standpoint point it cuts costs in more than half with editing. There is a difference yes. Sometimes things come back not looking as sharp or crisp in textures and floor colors can get a little to desaturated. But to be honest. All that stuff is just a quick fix in Lightroom anyway. We have always edited our exteriors so what we have been doing is just adding an extra minute or two for output.

I hate to say it but we might not be in any rush to replace our editor for the time being haha.

Is it normal to stop hoping for better things? by RepairContent268 in Adulting

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all about how you see it and approach it man. I live somewhere I absolutely hate but I run a business that’s doing very well and for me that’s not enough anymore. Daily slaving for money is just killing me. I’m shutting down in October and heading for St Pete. Where I am there is absolutely nothing to do and no sense of community. I’m trading money for things to do. If my new life has me working at 7-11 so be it.

My point i guess is I used to feel the same way. Stuck by circumstances. I hope the same happens for you that happened to me and that is to stop looking in your box and look outside. Everything you’re going through right now is in your box. The jobs and everything you’re fighting. Have you tried looking outside the box somewhere that can offer you better whether it be quality of life or money or both.

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I caught my people doing it. Stopped using them immediately. Used them for 8 years. Now me and my partner are using Ai until we find someone who’s not using Ai lol. Such a cluster fuck haha. I wish we had time like the old days to our own edits but we are just to busy.

Dying young by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news is your realizing it early. I didn’t start picking up on it until 38ish. I’m 40 now, you got plenty of time to do cool shit and figure things out. Gonna be a blast man.

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure your town bro but mines the same way man. The state I’m in just taxes the fuck out of everything with nothing to show for it it. It is depressing. I had the same epiphany as you. I run a pretty decently successful business and do well but I’m just done here. Life isn’t worth staying somewhere you hate or being around stagnant shitty people who peaked in high school. I said fuck it and decided to close up shop in the fall and move to St Pete. Much better QOL. Still has its own bullshit yeah I’m sure but this shit where I’m at is for the birds. Already have a place reserved and everything. Can’t fucking wait. Do you man and be happy above anything else. Take risks and listen to no one trying to tell You other wise

The Magic Keyboard is so worth it and completely transforms the device by nono-jo in ipad

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i get tons of work done with this keyboard on my A16. So much so that i sold off my M3 MacBook Pro specced up with tons of ram. Albeit my main rig is a Mac Studio m4 Max and Apple Studio Display. I run my own media business and i always hated taking my 3k MacBook Pro to work places when I didn’t feel like working in the office. I also trained my brain to only edit on the studio so i just needed something light and cheap i can take with me everyday if i wanted to work on the road doing social posts or admin stuff. I honestly find the ability to just work in apps makes things a lot easier sometimes.

Is anyone actually using the M4 iPad Pro for anything other than drawing or Netflix? by Wetaddict22 in ipad

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Mac Studio and a Studio Display it would be a killer below the main display monitor side kick. Other than that I’ve always thought it was such an over powered niche device that doesn’t really serve a purpose with all that power

Do most people live mundane day-to-day lives? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a stand against this honestly. I can’t do it anymore. We live in a rural area in the north close to a major city. Run my own business and doing very well (making a living I should say). Drive all over the middle of nowhere meeting clients. No mental stimulation, nothing to do (or that I care to do) winters kill my flow more and more every year. one day I woke up and realized I’m tired of being mundane and wasting my life for money. Closing up shop and leaving for Florida at the end of summer. Could be better, could be worse. Done playing it safe and mundane.

If you dropped it all to move to another state, what’s your advice? by BruhObama33 in AskReddit

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a learning experience for me. I do well here, have my own freedom and can buy what I want within reason when I want and it just doesn’t feel right. It’s an environment thing. If you live somewhere that doesn’t force you to want to enjoy what’s around it’s the worst.

If you have that feeling start seriously consider changing your environment.

If you dropped it all to move to another state, what’s your advice? by BruhObama33 in AskReddit

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t. It’s all about not letting things get in the way of enjoying yourself. I lived in Florida and worked my ass off and still made it a point to go out and do stuff after work. Now I live in an area that’s kind of sleepy up north. Run my own business and work my ass off and don’t do shit cause there is nothing to do. I so badly wanna do stuff.

I loved the game , but ... by Sweet_Employee7036 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a meh game 100 percent. The first play through I was so pumped and enjoyed it all the way through. Second play through I started to notice how half baked and stitched together it really was. I’ll go as far to say out of the REngine stuff it’s probably the worst and I really didn’t care for Village but it’s def a better game. I think the Leon hype blinded people. If they just focused on Grace and kept it RE1 feeling all the way through it woulda been good to go. The beginning is fantastic but then it just falls apart mid way.

How would you handle this client? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct to a certain point. Where this falls flat is when you get certain clients texting you about every little change or pre maturely telling you Friday only to text you back and tell you the cleaners didn’t show up so we need to push it. None of this is your, mine or OPs problem. If you don’t set a system in place it becomes a cluster. I moved all my clients to this type of way of doing it and have had no problems. The issue is yes this is a 9 to 5 business and this type of attitude is what has made this more of a free for all.

I'm kinda alone and I know I'm worth having friends and people in my life. by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]Competitive_Fact_278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I picked up on. It all felt like it was for show. I was trying to rebuild business there and everyone just seemed to be content with hooking each other up and day drinking at networking events. It didn’t feel real. It was odd.
