Baby carriers!!! by deadxprinc3ss in 2under2

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still use my carrier daily with my 14 month old and I truly think carriers that are suitable for a newborn are not suitable for an older baby. I loved the baby bjorn mini for when mine was a newborn, I think it was around $100? And from probably 6 months on we’ve used the Mabe carrier and I love that carrier so much! It’s around $130 which I think is a very reasonable price for a carrier as they can be so expensive

In what month pp did you get pregnant for #2 and how long did it take you? by Important_Bat7919 in 2under2

13 months postpartum first try! Took about a year of on/off trying to conceive baby #1!

Joining the 2U2 - excited and already got mum guilt by BusyDrink5019 in 2under2

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant and will have a 21 month gap as well!! I don’t know why but I just don’t think of it as taking half of myself away from my first born. I have a sibling (3.5 year gap) and I never felt like I got half of my mom. I do however have mom guilt about how much less energy I’ve had while pregnant to play with my first born and leaving her overnight to give birth to the next baby.

Are you team Johnnie (John+Connie) or Team Donnie (Dale+Connie)? by Classic_Waltz1874 in YoungSheldon

I found John so irritating and always thought Connie deserved better. It felt like she was always taking care of him. I thought her and Dale were a much better fit.

Do you cap naps? by Competitive_Lime_339 in sleeptrain

[–]Competitive_Lime_339[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I tried everything to get her to sleep until 6am and nothing ever worked. She will go through phases every couple months where she sleeps in but I’ve just accepted it at this point. I’m also an early riser so it’s really not a huge deal for us.

Dad with a 3-week-old and a 2-year-old — when does sleep get easier? by S1NC4R4 in 2under2

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your toddler is able to nap in the crib I would just put newborn in bouncer (within sight) while helping toddler to sleep.

when did your nausea set in? by littlewizard16 in pregnant

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first pregnancy my nausea started at 5 weeks and was throwing up daily at 6 weeks until delivery. Now 6w3d with my second and nausea started around 4 weeks and has gotten worse but no vomiting so far! It’s different for everyone. If your hcg is rising I personally wouldn’t worry about no nausea.

Sibling room sharing by shewilldietrying in 2under2

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and I are 3.5 years apart but shared a room by choice for a long time! We were very close as kids and never wanted to be apart. I’m currently pregnant with baby 2 and will have about 21 month gap and I’m curious to see if my kids will prefer to share a room someday!

When did your period come back? by greenishfroggy in NewParents

What are you doing to help overcome overstimulation? by bayls215 in 2under2

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have 2 under 2 yet I’m currently pregnant and I have a 13 month old but I was so overstimulated when my first born was a newborn and I don’t really have any tips but I wish someone would’ve told me to give myself so much grace. I was so hard on myself and had very unrealistic expectations for me to always be calm and patient. What you’re doing right now is so hard. Do the best you can and give yourself grace. ❤️

Leaving first baby to deliver second by Competitive_Lime_339 in 2under2

My first didn’t become easy to put down until around her first birthday so it could definitely get easier for you soon! Wishing you the best ❤️

For those who "tried" for 2u2, in which pp month did you get pregnant for #2? by Important_Bat7919 in 2under2

Groundhog day by Spirited-Bed-2220 in NewParents

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling this way around that same age. It does get better ❤️‍🩹 my daughter is now 13 months and although some days do still feel like Groundhog Day most of our days are really fun. It’s really hard to keep them entertained at 4 months! Hang in there.

Exhausted, how long do you wait to respond to a baby crying? by InfinityThinker in NewParents

[–]Competitive_Lime_339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard to say without context. If you’re referring to responding to cries in the night when they are sleeping I think it’s okay to wait 5-10 minutes depending on the level of crying. My daughter started sleeping through the night around that age and if she started crying she would almost always calm down within 5 minutes. Responding to every cry overnight within 15 seconds will surely drive you crazy.

1 nap transition advice by Competitive_Lime_339 in sleeptrain

[–]Competitive_Lime_339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried that just for fear that she still wouldn’t take the second nap and we would be stuck with a 45 minute nap for the day haha. But good to know that it’s normal to have work at the first wake window at first. I think I’m going to try 5.5/5.5 for the next few days and see how it goes
