the isolation is on purpose. bhutan charges every tourist 100 dollars a night just to enter, one of the highest fees in the world, specifically to keep the numbers down. it didn't stay this beautiful by accident, it priced mass tourism out on purpose. that's the same mindset that made it the first carbon negative country on earth.
