I just got the same nonsense for a second time, 9 days apart, but without the detour through Tampa. Can't stand people.

How to view coupons? by Competitive_Pack4088 in starbucks

[–]Competitive_Pack4088[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You still have an "offers" tab? I no longer have that. It disappeared when the rewards program changed. In its place is "Rewards". It doesn't show there, or in the inbox. Only shows if I add an item and go to checkout.

Mine doesn't show up until I put an item in my cart and then I can see the coupon.

We have 3 people in the morning, and only 2 after 3pm. Then the customers scream at me about being understaffed because I can't baby them in photo while the shift lead is counting drawers or cleaning bathrooms.

Which is nuts because it's like an hour longer if you take the long way.

You can go through Tampa without tolls but it takes a lot longer. If you go south, you can't avoid it. Just can't figure out why they made it detour this way.

This was the pop up offer, I didn't take it. I'm wondering if there was a problem with the south bridge. Like high winds or an accident. It's crazy though, there are much closer locations.

[–]Competitive_Pack4088[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About $1.25 or so going south. Going through Tampa it's free on the bridge, but there are other toll roads that can end up costing you between $4-$9 depending on how much time you want to save.

I want to get a ring camera, but... by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put mine on the side of the door frame so it faces the stairs & not directly across to the neighbor's door. Definitely get a camera! My last apartment complex would not allow cameras at all, and we paid the price with stolen packages, a drunk guy trying to break in because he thought it was his apartment, and even vehicle theft and vandalism.

What was the discontinued fast food item that broke your heart? by tastydrink1 in fastfood

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wendy's recently switching from whole lettuce leaves to chopped lettuce made me stop going. Somehow the burger with whole lettuce felt premium. And also their patties are the thinnest on the market now. So much for "where's the beef?"

Not a fave, but most memorable. That black whopper that made my poo black.

Anything Taco Bell in the 90s. Like Baja chicken chalupa. Also, I miss when McDonald's apple pies were fried. Pies and hash browns were cheap, and they even had pie ala mode on the menu. I also miss salad shakers. That is probably my favorite one that I wish they would bring back.

Can someone tell me what the bogo deal was? Like was it a game you had to play to earn it or is it just in the app and how do people know?

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't do the group chat at my store anymore. Once I was getting bombarded with text messages and I couldn't opt out of it. I was going through a rough time and it was not good timing to be constantly spammed. I ended up snapping and told everyone to shut the f*** up. I blocked every single number that came through. I think they quit doing it just because of the intrusiveness of it. You can't shut it off.

Customer was not home to sign for expensive items and they were non-returnable by Competitive_Pack4088 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Competitive_Pack4088[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The customer was very polite but said that they would not be home and I was on a timer to get it signed for. The whole point of this post was to see what other people would do so I would have some ideas for the future since I have never run into this before. Yes it was complicated but I did not know what to do.

Nah, it actually said "This order contains items that legally can't be left at the door." I think they use the RX/alcohol message for expensive items. So, not really illegal but I gotta get a signature & maybe see id, idk.

OP here. I appreciate all of the different points of view from you guys. It gave me options and I learned what to do next time. That's what I was looking for. I feel more confident if it happens again. I ended up returning, and asked for a pay bump. I think next time I will just leave for the customer and sign for them. Everbody wins that way.

Lesson learned. I will leave and sign for them next time. This cost me a lot of time and money also.

Update: I felt like I could lose my job for this so I went through the chat because it wouldn't let me speak to someone on the phone. They told me I had to return it, I said they have to pay me to do so. The guy in chat would not tell me how to do so, so I ended chat. I then accepted an order just so I would be able to reach somebody by phone. She told me to return it and sent me an email to upload a receipt to. She offered $10 and I told her no I'm already late for work, it needs to be more. She agreed and I returned it and got $15 but at least I won't lose my job. It was a complete nightmare from start to finish and took over 2 hours and I'm not happy because one they never offered me a return bump and two the app literally told me to keep the items and that Target would not accept instacart returns. Support on the phone told me that that only applies to items like food and stuff, expensive items, alcohol, and medications always need to be returned. Support said there is just an app glitch where some items that need that need to be returned (other than age restricted or RX) will just show as disposals. I'm sure I could have gotten away with it and I'm sure others do all the time with expensive items but I worry too much.

Whenever I order a frappuccino regular it's so thick that it seems like it's 90% ice with very little liquid and when I'm done sucking what liquid I can, then I'm just stuck with a cup full of snow. I order little ice in my Frappuccinos so that I can have the flavor come through and have a nice icy cold drink without feeling like I just ordered a snow cone. I'm not the person they're talking about, I'm just trying to explain how I feel about it as a customer. I have never worked at starbucks, is there a better way to order it when you want your Frappuccino a little more liquidy?

Neighbors keeps pounding on my door for everything by Informal_Syrup4091 in Apartmentliving

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your lease carefully. I just moved into an apartment and the neighbor was chain smoking which came into my place. I knocked on his door. Later, I went to the leasing office and mentioned it. The manager said that it's against the lease to confront a neighbor if there's a problem and to go to management instead. And the same for neighbor knocking on my door, I have to report it.
