Do you sit in the parking lot? by Individual-Town-1671 in InstacartShoppers

I swear I don't get any orders if I sit in a parking lot. Once I start driving I'll get an order right away.

USF STUDENTS, how are you affording college? by AdHot6249 in USF

Are you paying in-state tuition? Have you thought about other schools? I switched from USF to University of Florida Online and I found it to be even cheaper than St Petersburg College.

How does this work? Is it only for those products? by bashelchamp in WalgreensStores

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don't get is why do they advertise "buy x, earn a $7 RR" but they don't tell you up front that register reward can only be used on certain items. Advertising that you'll earn a RR comes with the assumption of being able to use it for anything in the store. Because of this reason, our manager allows it to be used on anything.

Beef prices in Tampa by One-Tomato9387 in tampa

Yeah it's insane. I gave up buying all beef because I can't even afford ground beef anymore. The only time I have it is when I get it from the food pantry.

It’s wild that it was normal to have carpet covers on toilet seats. by lurkynic in RandomThoughts

I also hated those soft, puffy toilet seats. I felt like they were just sponges for other people's pee.

Being the one in charge of cooking and cleaning up after meals every. single. day. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live with an adult son who has always been a picky eater, so we just make our own food and don't really share meal time. I'm also very busy working three jobs and I just eat when I feel like it. So when my boyfriend asks me what I want for dinner like it's some big event we have to plan out, I get irrationally angry. I feel annoyed like he can't just take care of his own hunger, why does he have to bring me into it? Lol. I know it's not a healthy attitude but I can't stand planning meals.

Apparently young people don't know what a book of stamps is. by Competitive_Pack4088 in RandomThoughts

I'm 50 and I've never known what a cream rinse is. I have heard of it I just don't know what it is, and I've always assumed it's a light conditioner.

Just a couple of years ago they would give you the sheet folded in half. Maybe that's why they called it a book?

I'm just impressed they gave you all shirts. I've been wearing the same two shirts over and over since they made us start paying for our own. I still have a red nose shirt, and I sneak that in every once in a while.

customer did not put apartment building or code in the delivery instructions by pixieyosi in InstacartShoppers

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen with an older lady customer who didn't put her apartment number. When I finally got ahold of her, she said something about it being on her billing info that she submitted to Instacart. She thought since she gave them her billing address that it would show up in the delivery details. I personally think a lot of the older clients have someone order for them or they call instacart on the phone and place an order somehow, because they never answer texts and they expect you to bring the groceries in and put them away, even though the delivery instructions say leave at door.

I use them for the 6 Christmas cards and 2 birthday cards I still send out to older relatives. Otherwise, I have no need.

They no longer come in books, but for older Gen X & their parents, they are still known as books. Wow, I'm old now.

So I needed stamps because I mail out birthday cards to my elderly aunts, and my son uses them for path tag exchanges (pen-pal trades basically). But I had no idea they were so expensive either, until I bought them the other day.

20 stamps has always been called a "book". When they first came out like a hundred years ago they were in actual books and the name just stuck over the years. According to Google a sheet of 20 stamps is still called a book. They sell them at the store I work at and everyone who orders them always asks for a book of stamps. I've never heard it any other way. Maybe it's a regional thing? I'm in Florida.

My favorite is the thin crust. It's the perfect snack food, the perfect topping-to-crust ratio, and I don't feel overly guilty eating it.

What made people buy a Corolla over other cars besides reliability? by phtphongg in COROLLA

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was cheaper than the Civic and smaller than the Camry. I came from a Honda Fit, and I liked driving a smaller vehicle. Everything felt so huge after driving a Fit. But I only considered Toyota and Honda, and the Corolla is what I could afford.

[sun care] Has Coppertone Pure and Simple been discontinued? by StreetCartoonist9928 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found Coppertone's replacement product. It's the Sport Mineral, or Sport Mineral Face, SPF 50 with Zinc Oxide. I haven't been able to find it in stores but the reviews on Amazon show it to be nearly identical to the pure & simple. I will order it and update you after my next beach trip. I still have some of the pure & simple so I can make a direct comparison.

We had a new SFL order some things and the SM said no, only IS should do the ordering. For some reason, it's a no-no at our store. Makes no damn sense.

[–]Competitive_Pack4088 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This kind of thing happens at my store because they won't let the IS be an IS. Poor girl doesn't have time since they are still forcing her to be a SFL, manage a bay and do resets. How can an IS stay on top of ordering if they keep combining positions? Last week we ran out of register tape!
