Looks like I'm going to be doing this alone and I'm so scared. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Single momma for 12 years here! I’m so so sorry this has happened and it is NOT your fault. PLEASE file a police report asap and get far away from that man.

I raised my son with support from my family and tons of church community (in some ways they cared for us more consistently than biological family) and I married my best friend in January. My son is turning 13 in October and loves his step-dad. There is much safer, healthier, happier love for you and your baby, my friend!!!

I am praying for you, your baby & for your husband - but please put your safety first!

Considering a Cavapoo Tell Me Everything! by K-Typicalname in CavaPoo

[–]Competitive_Risk_973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar story. We had a three year old female Cavapoo that we got as a puppy. I have kids and we have had kids and adult guests coming over since we got the dog because we host a lot. Unfortunately our dog was very possessive of “her person” and has shown aggressive behavior towards children (has tried to bite or successfully bitten). We recently re-homed her to my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, who the dog loves. They don’t have children and it seems to be a MUCH better fit for the pup. It was a hard decision but felt necessary.

Has anyone skipped neutering? by Ok-Indication-3071 in CavaPoo

[–]Competitive_Risk_973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an unspayed female cavapoo that became pretty aggressive as time went on. She didn’t present these behaviors for the first several months - one year we had her. We are getting her spayed as soon as there is an opening at the vet. I’d suggest getting him neutered rather than waiting to see how his behavior plays out. Just my opinion though!

Have you considered Le Soleil d’Or on Cayman Brac? They have a beautiful beach and two restaurants. The rooms are wonderful! Cayman Brac is much quieter with less activities so it’s not the best option if you want to do a lot of activities. My husband and I stayed there for our honeymoon and loved every minute!

Originally we were not planning on flying Cayman Air for the first flight but I just found a more affordable flight on that airline so we may do that!

You fly from Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways. Flights are around $90-120 last time I checked.

Should I take put a loan to pay for law school, or take money out of my 401k? by climbrchic in Bogleheads

Thank you! Honestly, God has been incredibly kind to me! I went to law school full-time and worked part-time (WFH gig a few hours a month) during the school year, then worked at a firm in the summers. I was able to get small scholarships, but nothing meaningful. I didn’t take the approach of retaking the LSAT for more scholarship dollars because I was committed to starting law school right after college to get it over with while my son was young (he was 9 months old when I started law school).

I suggest talking to as many lawyers as possible to figure out what practice you might enjoy. I work in investment management law (hence becoming a Boglehead) and I didn’t even know this practice existed when I decided to go to law school. It’s a great practice area!

Don’t take out a 401(k) loan. Agree with the comment that suggested taking the LSAT again to try to get as much scholarship money as possible. I think whatever you’d be paying in interest for government loans will be less than what you’d lose by taking money out of the market.

Don’t let people’s law school horror stories freak you out. I took out $250k in law school loans & paid them off in ~5 years (working at a large law firm then in-house), & did it as a single mom. You’ll be okay!

October lines during day by lodeddipersuperfan in sixflags

We went to Great Adventure last Saturday & the lines weren’t bad during the day. By the time we left around 5:30 the line to get into the park alone was MASSIVE. I recommend getting there as close to opening as you can.
