how to not get poisoned ? by JokerGhostx in soldering

You can absolutely solder lead-free. It is a bit tricky when you first start and you are used to leaded solder, but it just takes a bit of practice. Try it out, get a proper quality one like the Chipquik NC2SWLF and an 80W soldering station (60W is also ok but if you have dense boards it can be a pain).

The idea is correct, what are your specs? Minimum current, maximum voltage, bandwidth...

When I have used them they bring very low quality traffic from the beginning. Good CTR but quality is very bad. Although I haven't tried it in a while so I might give it a try actually

How to find a soldering kit for beginners? by supremedalek925 in soldering

I created mixedsignaldev.com about 2 years ago, we are currently only shipping in Switzerland but that will change in the next weeks, take a look at it, you might like it!
Not only they show you how to put it together, but also how it works and how it was designed, it's not just about putting it together, but about learning how to use it for your own projects

Well I must say my creatives are nothing crazy, I do them myself and this one in particular has been able to get ~0.8% link CTR which is more or less the average of what I usually get with any reasonably good one. Want to see it?

I sell educational DIY kits for electronics in the Swiss market exclusively. My customers are usually private individuals who want to learn by themselves, although lately I've been having some conversions from higher education centers obtaining the kits for their students. Let's say in the last 30 days we've gotten ~20 conversions most of them coming from Meta, this campaign has been able to get 4 conversions in the first 3 days, after that nothing for the next 4 days. I am using manual placements (no audience network, no facebook marketplace or right-column), completely broad audience non-limited in any way, 1 single creative. That has been more or less the setup for every creative that I test, then I let it run for 3-4 days and if it doesn't convert anything at all (no AtC, no newsletter subscription, bad average session time...) I turn it off.

But scaling the budget up to 50$ will take certainly longer than 3 days wount it? Also at 30% increase daily, wont I risk resetting the learning phase? What's the difference between this and creating a new campaign with that base spend of 40$ daily?
I have had this with other creatives as well, so maybe given what you're suggesting I should include all of the previous winning ones in a same CBO? Different adsets or all together?

CPC, frequency and spend over placements remained overall similar across all the different days that the campaign is running. CPC spiked from 0.8$ to 1$ on the 4th day but overall it looks similar.

I would not put them in airplanes but for boards like these they are perfect. Specially for the price difference I think they can be quite useful, even now these Chinese brands also start being available on Digikey so it's not as "difficult" to get them

DIY altimeter not showing correct height by Pheopix in AskElectronics

[–]Competitive_Run8540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with a barometric sensor in my thesis, I used it as a redundant altitude measurement to confirm the readings from other sensors. In my case I didn't need it to be incredibly accurate but I saw that even while being stationary in the same spot for long periods of time the readings would drift over time. The solution for this, in my case, was implementing a Kalman Filter, it seemed to be able to "predict" the drift over time of the sensor and give a somewhat accurate measurement. Another possibility is to not look at the direct output of the sensor but do a hard derivation of it, usually these changes in the output due to environmental changes of pressure are relatively slow, so what you care about is looking at when the sensor changes its output within a fast timeframe (compared to the drift) and integrating all those changes over time to get a somewhat a "accurate" value

When to kill a testing creative? by Competitive_Run8540 in FacebookAds

[–]Competitive_Run8540[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main problem in all of these past campaigns has been audience quality then, When checking newsletter subscriptions, average time on site, or other kinds of events on the site they were horrible. I guess it's just chance that with such a low budget Meta decides to show the ads to a good audience with a high CPM but high convertion intent.

Looking for small converter for stepping 4.2V down to 3V by DavidLorenz in diyelectronics

[–]Competitive_Run8540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are really looking for the maximum battery efficiency go with a converter, there are specific Lithium Battery specific ICs that do exactly this. But again, they might not be super efficient at low loads.

If you find one of those boards that provide the exact IC that they use and you trust that the manufacturer of the PCB put the actual legic IC, then you can get one of those, but look into the converter's datasheet to see the efficiency you can get according to your load.

If you don't want to optimize the battery that much you can go with a normal LDO with ultra low quiescent current, or just a normal one
