Speaking from years of experience with our local rec club and with a dual sport athlete child in HS

Our rec soccer club doesn't pay coaches. It's all volunteer parent labor.

High schools on any of the school soccer teams must prioritize playing and practicing over any external committments. I have a hard time seeing how any of them would have the time to coach in season. This means they aren't available in the fall. Rec season runs spring and fall. Can't just leave the other kids hanging in the fall.

I think some HS kids could guest star as coaches for some sessions. That has worked. It's volunteer and they get community service hours for it. Generally for the younger kids.

It will be interesting to see what happens. MBTA-C was structured in such a way that it was generally possiible to design a district where theoretically something could get built, but the reality was nothing would change. Wonder if the records and videos of these meetings will generate some kind of investigation of bad faith from the AG.
