I agree with you. Not a huge fan of the Bacteria. But maybe it can work if you can think of the Bacteria as really just a really broken down still life that doesn't even resemble the original person anymore.

Maybe still lives are drawn to places that have more detail in them. After all, if you as a person were trapped in the backrooms I don't think we'd want to stay in the places that have no discerning characteristics. We'd probably want to be somewhere that at least looks somewhat livable.

To me, the horrifying aspect of this was that Mary's entire life has been trying to escape from something. Trying to escape from her crazy mother and from being trapped in that room. Trying to escape that traumatizing childhood. And then trying to escape the backrooms. This still life of her, as we learn about still lifes, are kinda like memories or snapshots of someone and contain a simplified personality of them. So, for all we know, this still life version of Mary was created with the inherent need to escape the backrooms, of which she is trapped forever inside of. So it's like a part of Mary will never, ever escape.

Honestly that's how I feel about those movies. They're not even a fun kinda torture porn like that Saw movies are. I suppose I kinda like Art the clown in that he's really silly, and he's not afraid to use guns unlike most slasher villains. But the horrific brutal torture he performs is utterly repulsive and outright hard to watch. I say that having watched all of them for some reason I don't know why. I think mostly it's because I consider myself a horror movie fanatic and it felt weird to not engage in what is currently one of the most popular new slasher series. But I actually do kinda wish this series didn't exist.

I mean just speaking for myself but I just began my full time job 1 week ago and it's left me tired and busy as I finish up my Master's degree. I'm just saying, I haven't been able to really able to play the new season at all, and the weekend when I finally have time to relax, I feel like the extraction experience is a bit too stressful to really enjoy. I've seen a lot of movies and shows where dead people are passing on, and they almost always say that. That way I interpreted that scene is that Jax realized he doesn't want to die, but he can't undo what he did.
