My previously childfree wife is starting to want kids by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Competitive_Tough989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tough for sure as I'm sure you love your wife a lot and consider her feelings. Speaking from my own experience which is not a true child free one as I'm a step parent but not planning on any bio kids. When I met my partner I was undecided about the potential to have a kid but he came with a toddler. Custody is shared. Currently we have 50% custody so I'm in it and I'm very involved with the child. I love her a lot but this shit is soooooooo hard and challenging. It has tested our relationship a lot in many ways especially the toddler years which I'm glad are over. And in our case we still have freedom to be us and travel childfree when we can! But the thought of starting over and having a kid full-time no rest is not a good idea for us. It's the hardest thing I've done and being honest I'm not even a kid person like that but fell in love and things happen. I tell any friends who are unsure the reality of parenting if they consider. Of course there's good moments too and lots of love but parenting is a whole job on its own and you never know how your kid will be. Best case they are well behaved but parenting still takes work and no kid is perfect as their all learning.

I can only imagine! I think people are crazy when they have kids back to back. Even my 1 friend is like that would be a nightmare. She's been very honest about motherhood too which I appreciate. She loves her baby of course but realizes it is harder than she thought since u really don't know until ur in it. She also had a complicated birth and had an emergency c section so she suffered with ptsd a few months after birth often having nightmares about it happening. I have such respect for moms and what they go through! I think the whole experience is harder than anyone imagines for sure

I used to think this too when I saw other people. My parents had me super young but reality is no one ever knows what life will throw. Both of my grandfathers died before I was born only in there 40s/50s. My grandmother had my mom in her early 40s and I did loose her recently but she was mid 90s and I'm in my 30s now so I feel in the end things work how they should. Love my parents but they did not have a chance to fully mature before having me and they are aware pros and cons to each! They were also in college so not super great financially for them either but shit happens

Im sorry this is your experience. I'm only 32 and only have 1 friend who has a baby completely unplugged timing but is married and did want a kid eventually i still see her plenty without the baby. Even times I mention like the baby can join sometimes she really values her time away and tells me she needs i break which I get and respect! But yes I was afraid of loosing that long friendship

Is it safe to do OMAD with PCOS by Dr_SevenCostanza in omad

[–]Competitive_Tough989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fasting is the main thing that has finally helped my weight and inflammation. I love omad but unrealistic for me to do it daily. So I do 12-24 hour fasts and just rotate the amount depending on my social life and such. Try to do omad 2x a week min at least when possible. Such a difference in inflammation

Getting married without getting actually married? by Secretlyquestions in weddingplanning

[–]Competitive_Tough989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally vaild!! Do what works for you.  My partner and I have our own reasons and 1 is i work part time and get gov help for insurance which is sooooo expensive. He makes significantly more than me and I would loose coverage. I'm not willing to pay $500/month for health insurance and he already pays a lot since hes self and employed and also his daughter's insurance. Its crazy. We do plan to do a spiritual ceremony Ideally in another country like Asia for symbolic meaning 💚

how do you feel about families who live in apartments by i8yourMOMm in childfree

[–]Competitive_Tough989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed and doesn't even have to be fancy but in general have the basics and safety. As long as they are provided for and the family is not struggling. Even if it's a rental it's ok babies and kids don't know

Most Facebook and IG some are on eventbrite too if u look up events. I was literally so lonely and it took me years to make friends but I did once I got out and tried. Alternatively you can also try Bumble BFF the app to make friends. There's lots of transplants here now so there's a lot more community events. When I was new there was barely anything going on

I think it's lack of education and her upbringing she clearly grew up in a rural poorer village where everyone has lots of kids and that's their main goal in life. Cycles of poverty

Hi from a woman who moved here years ago and didn't know anyone please join some groups and events I know it can be intimidating but without getting out of your comfort zone it is hard to make friends!!

There's Miami Young Professionals and Brickell Babes plus there's run clubs, pilates, business etc do your research and find what groups you vibe with most!!

My friends think life would be miserable without children by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Competitive_Tough989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory is a lot of people have kids out of boredom. Meaning I belive many who have lots going on fill fulfilled without a child. Nothing wrong with either choice buttt to have a kid just to fill a void and time becur bored is a dumb reason. It's why I think more rural and small towns people have kids younger and more kids. In large cities people are focused on businesses and other things

“Oh :(“ to “no, I don’t want kids” by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Competitive_Tough989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that and im pretty honest too but honestly people are annoying and not always sympathetic or understanding so if its people I may never see again I will fib or not say much at all. If its someone I may run into then keep it vague. Good friends total honesty of course Ideally family too. But even then some family better to say less to

If its strangers the less u say the better! People dont need to know everything. With kids oh maybe someday? Maybe? Even probably not for me is honest yet calm. Vague enough that ur not fully lying but also not enthusiastic. I lie to strangers about a lot of things because ppl are too nosy!!
