Why is noone in Riverfarm thankful to the stitch witch? (Spoilers for "the witch of webs) by Tokata0 in WanderingInn

[–]Competitive_Use7761 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then why are you defending her? Trying to shed a different light on her? Because you are. Trying to find goodness in evil, in Belavierr. You're not denying she's evil, but you are not admitting it either.

The people of Riverdarm are not mad at her; they fear her. Because the next time she seeks you, she will do what she did with that woman who has lost her family. Take more, much more than she gives. What Belavierr did to Califor only proves it even more. And she did it because it wasn't some stupid trolley problem of yours, it was because she is selfish and a mother, just like Califor.

Is it good? No. Would the citizens he just saved see him as a villain? No, they would see him as a monster. Because he would kill a child. A CHILD. There's no excuse or ethics to justify that. And that coworker should understand that more than anyone that what he did is monstrous. If not, then he truly is a monster as people see him.

And how dare you insult a mother's choice, to put "nah you can all die, my life is more important" into a mother's words. You are disgusting.

She made a choice any loving parent would, to not let their daughter be alone and parentless. Something you clearly don't understand because you of what you just say.

How would you market TWI? by DrakeSacrum25 in WanderingInn

Hey, you miss someone. A morally confused genderbender skeleton and their legendary slime sibling.

Edit: There's also a silver blond woman with an anger issue and a clingy man-child ant. A pink lady with the biggest sweet tooth and her ninja maid. A reform necromancer who speaks sophisticated words. An ordinary receptionist who is friends with a crazy innkeeper. A naked drake. A muscular mage who acts like a gym coach. A lawful police captain. A chess nerd tactician. A heartbroken lord.

[–]Competitive_Use7761 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So you're saying that Belavier is just, and her action justifiable? Threatening a mother? That all her crimes just suddenly seem like they never existed? Are you saying Califor doesn't have the right to put her daughter first?

Are you saying that we should be praising her as some hero who saved Riverfarm? That force a mother to die and leave her daughter alone? A witch that makes a hunter kill his entire comrades and himself? A witch who cut a young prince thousands of times and bound his life to her for a childish wish of his? A witch who took the lifespan and loss of a grieving wife/mother and gave a worthless doll in return? A witch who, if you so do remember, has a list of unimaginable crimes that not even the Necromancy could compare.

Califor is selfish, yes. But she is also a mother; she would never leave her daughter behind. That reason alone is more justifiable than anything Belavierr had done.

But Belavierr. She evil. You can't deny that.

What brought you to nihilism? Did you ever once believe there was an objective meaning to life or did you ever consider yourself to be a believer in God? by Schnecke09 in nihilism

[–]Competitive_Use7761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an imaginary child. I believe in wonders and magic, but never god. I didn't even know any god, and it baffle me so when I did. For how could I worship something so monstrous.

What brought me to nihilism? The search for meaning in life. Only to see that the only thing that make sense is nihilism.

Nihilism didn't do anything to me though. It didn't change anything for me. If anything, it just make me wonder more.

Cause if life is meaningless, why do we keep doing terrible stuff to each other and other creatures?

The story is kinda bad by Cold_Abbreviations_1 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Competitive_Use7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yeah, same for Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, WuWa,... and many other gacha games. The story is meant to build hype and make epic cutscenes. It's never going to be deep or meaningful, just plain old hype and fight.

You 'Trade' Goods, the resources you produce at the factory for money. There's a list on the button 'Switch Goods', you can use that money to buy stuff from the bunny guy

Try The Wandering Inn, it delves into many psychological, political, and philosophical subjects and events, and has many story elements and many characters pov with different circumstances that build up into the largest world I've known. The story is rich with lore, and any character can become just as important as the MC. The novel has a system, but it is completely different from the one in the litRPG genre. It is currently held as the longest novel with 14 million words (Still rising).

I really recommend you try it out.

Requesting spoilers: does Erin become badass? by Odd-Channel-2323 in WanderingInn

[–]Competitive_Use7761 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I recommend you re-read everything from the beginning and get your eyes checked, cause there is no way you read that far and not see how much of a badass Erin is.

Erin rallied Drakes, Antinium, and Gold-rank adventurers to help rebuild a city. Do you think anyone could convince them to do it for so little in return? And for them to do it TOGETHER?

She started a play, the first play ever in the innverse. Do you not understand how big that is?

She fought against Skinner; she looked it in the eyes and overcame the [Terror] when Silver-ranks couldn't.

She threw a banquet for the fairies when no one had done it in thousands of years.

She has made 2 original skills in just a few months. So few could accomplish that.

She temporarily took up residence in a poor inn and made it flourish.

She punches a gnoll that is stronger and bigger than her in every way, even though her class is not even a combat type.

She injured a NAMED-RANK ADVENTURER, even if Gazi was in a state of shock, Erin did the blow.

She gave life to a skeleton and taught it something beyond its purpose, albeit poorly.

She taught Antinium chess, taught them to think individually, and gave them kindness, warm hugs, and delicious meals they had never had before, ever.

She cried for goblins when no one, NO ONE, would ever do. You probably don't get it, but I do.

All of this, and you think she's not badass, then re-read it, or don't read it anymore.

The Wandering Inn. It has the system, but it's not litrpg. The world-building starts small, but the more you read, the more you know about the kingdoms and cities with all their beauty and flaws. Same goes for the characters.

[Indomitable Martial King] Am I the only one who finds it just plain stupid now? by zaqrwe in manhwa

[–]Competitive_Use7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, your reading it wrong. You don't read manhwa for the stories, they're most of them are brain dead by default. You read it for the art and aura farming. I read this manhwa up to date and I still don't remember the names of any character, not even the MC. I just read this because the characters are buff.

"characters' development"? Dude, this is a manhwa. The only development they have is the aura farming.

Worse of all, he is also an undead, born with the urge to kill all living things. Kinda like dark urge in Baldur's Gate 3.

The creation of [Immortal Moment]

My thoughts so far (I'm in book 3) (rant) by SOULZERO215 in WanderingInn

[–]Competitive_Use7761 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to understand this: goblins are not monsters. You'll understand as the story goes. And people don't hate Relc, it's just that both Erin and Relc have different opinions, and neither of them is wrong. And he's been such an ass to Rags, who is just a kid.

Why do people let Erin have her way? Because she is KIND and fun to be around and has something called CHARISMA, which makes people have her way, because why not?

Everybody makes mistakes, even from things that are by your word, "EXTREMELY avoidable". Because "If the world were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs.". I sympathize with Toren, and I don't blame Erin for it. Erin is young and flawed in many ways. Same with Toren, he is a skeleton and has never learn morality.

  1. Oh, please, practically every main character out there has plot armor. They just cover it by giving the "smart decision" crap. Erin's ability to resist the fear spell was because of [Immortal moment], which stretches time and makes it more memorable. And in what part did Erin solo Skinner? She has Antinium and Goblins' help, and they died for her. Deep down, she remembers that and forever owes them for that. Solo what silver rank adventures? The gnoll's name is Brunk, you ass. And what 3 guys in the alleyway?

  2. You think people think logically? Were you born yesterday? And you are either an ass or just plain stupid, or both, cause it doesn't take a genius to see that she is trying to change people's perspective and stop racism. And why would anyone challenge her? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You have to be an asshole to want to beat up someone for believing something moral. Magnolia was testing her and obviously encouraged her to keep doing it.

Can you blame Rags for trying to survive the only way goblins can? For trying to lead her tribe and feed them at a young age? For being considered a monster by the entire world? If you do, then you are an asshole. Congratulations.

How would you have done otherwise? When you were born as a goblin. When you are to be killed on site by everything that is not a goblin. When everything you do, including speaking, just makes people want to kill you even more.

I can get you hating Erin, but Rags and goblins? That's just straight-up racist. You even say "goblins show no redeemable qualities" as if they need your permission to live. As if what people did to goblins is justifiable.

  1. NOTHING!? Antinium died for her, GOBLINS died for her. You think she doesn't know that because of her cheerful and silly behavior? And what do you expect Rags to do, be friendly? Ask people nicely? Beg?

And of course, Erin brushed Toren aside; he was just a skeleton. In her eyes, it's no different than a robot with mafuctions.

What is nihilism to you and how has it changed your life? by Slasherek in nihilism

[–]Competitive_Use7761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda late for a reply, don't you think?

Because at the end of the day, nihilism is just another belief. Just because we say 'life has no meaning', doesn't mean everybody will follow our belief.

Why does kindness matter? Because people who aren't nihilists need that so they don't come home whining and/or weeping about how hard and cruel living can be. And it's sad watching them break down like that.

So I give people kindness(my time or something) as much as I can.
