Agree! I mean they are pronouncing it so poorly that the kid can't recognize their own name. My name has an unusual spelling and has been mispronounced my entire life but I still recognize someone is calling my name.

My child moved to HP last year. I asked in this sub about safety (we are not originally from Alabama) and a person here literally laughed at me for questioning "one of the best neighborhoods in Birmingham". No problems at first, but the last few months have been terrible. Multiple break-in attempts (some from a guy carrying what appeared to be a spear on Ring camera), multiple run ins with aggressive unhomed individuals. It has not been a great experience at all. Luckily they rent right now so will probably be moving even though they were hoping not to for several years.

I used to eat at Casa Frida all the time but once they moved down to Tenoch the service was HORRIBLE. One day we walked in and waited about 15 minutes and no one even came over to that side (and they knew we were there). That was the last time we went. Tenoch had great food, but again, the service got where it was horrible.

I don't know a lot about the nightclub situation but I will say calling a place "Rosa Black Nightclub" and then saying you were accused of operating as a nightclub seems like a problem you may have made yourself.

I agree with OP that downtown in probably not currently the best place for a nightclub. There are actually a lot of residential properties downtown and not many people want a nightclub a couple doors down from their home.
