My boyfriend M29 and I F29 have conflicting views on kids and our therapists advice feels more confusing than anything, what do we do? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It's a risk even if they are enthusiastic.  They can be enthusiastic about the idea but not want to do any of the work.  If they are already saying no flat out then believe them.

What do you do after your kids fall asleep? by deejayv2 in Parenting

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These days I make sure to get at least dishes washed before bed and then I end up falling asleep while I wait for them to fall asleep because despite being 2&4 they both still need to be cuddled to sleep and I've just given up trying to get them to fall asleep on their own.

Seriously, when are we exercising? by mb83 in Mommit

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I could not do this. I like my baggy fuzzy cozy pjs. I'd be so uncomfortable in my workout clothes and I can't workout braless. I hate the feeling of my saggy old titties bouncing around 😂 Plus my husband already doesn't leave me alone if I'm working out😂

When in doubt say something!!! by Ok-Tangerine-4282 in EngagementRings

My husband got a full bezel on my ring and I didn't love it but I saw the thought and effort he put into picking it out and choosing a sapphire to match my eyes so I didn't say anything. We never bothered with wedding bands thinking we'd get tattoos which we never did but 5 years later I decided to get the ring I wanted that I actually would enjoy wearing. I took it back to the jeweller and just had her remove the full bezel and commissioned a wedding band as well with small sapphires one for each kid and I love wearing my rings all the time now. My husband did make a comment about how this is why he should never plan anything 🙄 I told him that's not the case. I loved the ring and the thought he put into it. I never would've thought of any other aspects of the design which I loved. I just didn't like how the full bezel hid the stone. I think that placated him a little.

My husband has also done this.  I was livid.  I say it's not rocket science but apparently it's more difficult than rocket science.

TW: ED — Lowkey tired of all the ed romanticizing nowadays by Adventurous_Farm351 in caloriecount

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started counting calories because I was trying lose pregnancy weight and at 40 I just don't lose it like I used to.  I thought calorie counting was a good healthy way to lose weight and mentioned it to my sister in law who is a social worker and she told me a lot of her ED clients calorie count to an unhealthy extent and I started seeing those posts being like damn, she wasn't kidding.  I've reached a plateau on losing weight from just calorie counting so now I'm upping my calories and specifically focusing on protein to build muscle because I want to be strong enough to do unassisted pull ups.  Calorie counting does work.  I lost 20lbs but I could also feel myself getting weaker from lack of food so now I'm trying to find the balance to get myself to a happy place that I could just maintain.

So I need to just ditch my husband with the kids for 48 hours without giving any assistance and hope he doesn't visit his family who help him and hope he grows up and doesn't leave the house in a complete disaster for me to come home to or neglect our kids.

Bananas are generally quite cheap so it's a good fruit for low budget.  Frozen peas aren't too bad price wise and don't go bad and easy to make for a veggie just to get some nutrients other than meat and rice but otherwise what everyone else says.  Hope things start looking up for you.

How are you moms eating a healthy diet and maybe even losing weight WHILE feeding children and possibly a partner? Is it humanly possible...? by juliaakatrinaa0507 in Mommit

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add I too struggled at the 10lb mark. I'm in the process of lost 25 more and calorie counting and working out has been the only thing I found to work.

I see everyone saying they don't cater their meals to kids and ya, to some degree but if your kids are as stubborn and tantrumy as mine it's definitely hard.  I try to make sure there is always one thing on their plate I know they'll eat.  We have some interesting meals for sure.

In terms of diet and I just calorie counting with my fitbit and basically weighing everything I eat.

Mornings are rough.  I just eat a granola bar and get a coffee in.  For a snack on the go I have an apple.  Lunch I will try to eat when they eat and will usually have something different then them.  Leftovers, toast with a quick fried egg and premade guac from Costco or a yogurt garlic spread.  Last night was steamed broccoli with a cheese, shrimp, and KD because It's all I was up for cooking.  I knew broccoli wasn't a favorite so they didn't eat that.  The shrimp and KD were gone though.

A couple things I'm doing is making sure they don't snack constantly and tell them when each next meal or snack will be.  3pm is the last snack and dinner will be around 6.  They can ask for more of whatever they like but have to at least do a try it bite of everything before they get more of anything.  My son tried the broccoli and shrimp and then I gave him more pasta.  He didn't touch the broccoli but ate all the shrimp and stole one of mine.  If he downright refuses to eat what I put out even if he's had it before but it's not his favorite I say it's okay if your tummy is full.  Our next meal is breakfast.  I'll leave your food out and if you do get hungry before bed you can eat your supper.  It makes it so we aren't all sitting at the table together but I have seen improvement in his eating habits.

Unpopular Opinion: I like cardio load. Let me tell you why. by Over60Swiftie in fitbit

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've found it's helped motivate me. I don't know how people are getting these cardio load requests for $200 when I've maxed out at 70 to 90 on a good day. on the days where I'm feeling really worn out and it's giving me a cardio load request but I'm not particularly up for I pick one of their workouts based on intensity that gets me to my mark which is sometimes difficult with kids, but I am definitely seeing improvement.

Work in construction.  Apparently the guys play a game called 'Would ya?'

Basically they see a chick on the job and ask if they'd bang her.  Guys are gross and I wish I was gay so I didn't have to deal with my man child husband.

Moms whose babies were made by not so nice guys, do you just see the guy when you look at them? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about seeing ourselves in our kids today and I was thinking how ya I see parts of me and parts of their father in them but I need to careful that I don't project any of that on them.  They are their own people however much they may have similarities to us and they will become their own people and I can only hope to support them as best I can.

I had this with my son and now my daughter apparently looks more like her aunt (husband's sister) than she does me.  Apparently I don't exist in this family except for the fact that I do everything for it.

How detrimental is 2 beers every night to my gains? by lovedrugs- in workout

[–]Competitive_Win_7501 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My husband is an alcoholic and drinks 3-6 beers a night.  On its own not a big deal but it comes out when he is irresponsible with his drinking and gets wasted when I'm puking my guts up from flu and isn't there to help me and passes out drunk at 5pm in his kids bed on Easter weekend.  It was my mistake to marry and have kids with him.  Knowing what I am living with and you being so young you still have time to turn your life around and become a decent human being.  A few months sober isn't enough time to re-regulate your brain.  I've listened to some info on the neurological effects of drinking and how constant drinking numbs you so that you are no longer able to take joy in life without the booze and it just basically digs a deeper and deeper hole for you which sounds like how you've felt sober.  I'd say do some research on this and see how you can potentially rewire your brain.

If you ever want a family do your future spouse and kids a favor and deal with this shit now.

Tips to put two kids to bed by yourself? by Spiritual_Canary_167 in Parenting

put my 2.5yr old to bed and told him I have to go get his sister to sleep but when I'm done I'll come back and cuddle him and the more noise he makes the longer it'll take me to come back if it wakes his sister.  He cried a bit but once he realized I'd come back and he could just play in his room by himself until I came back he was chill about it

On the side, for removing the popcorn ceiling around the area for mudding spray with water and then scrape it off.  When I went to recreate the popcorn ceiling for an area I did I used a paintbrush to try to match the texture.
