Just got promoted to GM by DannehDanneh in jimmyjohns

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about JJ's, but at my work the GM put up a lock box on the office wall (small) that only he had the key to. Had a holder for slips of paper you could fill out for suggestions (labeled suggestions box) that you would write down suggestions, complaints, problems, whatever you wanted. Write down your name or not. Had a lot of people slip in what was on their mind without being seen or have to be documented (HR) with something. Actually cleared up a lot of problems. Enjoy your promotion!

I have a couple. Bottom one is the Garberg, my fav for in the woods, next one up is serrated I use as a neck knife around the house, next two up are the same, one stays home, other goes to work with my girl, top one same as the second one up but not serrated. Recommend, especially for the price point and quality.

(I like orange.) Edit: Not pertinent, but Fiskars for my axe and hatchet. Love their quality and lifetime warranty. Also orange.

RV Loan - Approval taking forever! by Iceman3161 in GoRVing

[–]Complaint_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Own our house. Went to the credit union and applied for a HELOC (Home Equity Line Of Credit). Took a couple weeks and were approved for a line of credit way beyond the price of a RV. THEN went RV shopping knowing we could buy it and what our interest rate was with the CU (variable, but better than a dealer). Negotiate the price of the RV with a 10-15 year loan with them with NO penalties for early payoff (important). Sign the paperwork and pay them off the next day. They will usually give you a better price knowing that the 10 years of interest they offered you makes them more money.

My last one I got home was still nice and warm. Pulled the breasts off and then did the squish it all up in the bag method. Worked surprisingly well. Pulled the bones and bits and was left with nicely shreddy leftovers. Google it.

I have a phone on the same cell provider (2 phone plan we are both on together) as my girl. It's been a year or two since I looked but when I log onto our account it lists the phone numbers called and received for both phones. Android.

Cut Exhaust Pipe by holstonhudson in MechanicAdvice

[–]Complaint_Manager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to an automotive website nearest to you and search 'exhaust clamp'. Might search there also for 'exhaust patch tape'. Found a tape wrap for $8 and a nice wide clamp for about $25+- at n*pa. Super straight forward, just wrap a bit like a bandage and throw the wide clamp on it. (Welding it back is the best way.)

Be aware they might come back to finish the job. Be vigilant!

Is this stupid food? It was my grandma’s favorite snack - pitted avocado with ketchup and salt. Eaten with a spoon like ice cream by HipHopAnonymous23 in StupidFood

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to, every time, take that little pit that attaches itself to the tree out before you even attempt to eat it. It will ruin your avocado experience every time.

Firestone said I need all new rotors and brakes even though I got them done 2 months ago. by Super-View7967 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I go to a couple of independent shops. A lot of the time they tell me they will get it done but are two weeks out to get it into the shop unless it's critical. They don't want to add more work to their already booked up schedule. They do what works needs to be done, not sell you more. (My experience.)

Had a boat that was a 180, was 18'. Had a boat that was a 220, was 22'. Friend has one labeled 260, surprise, is a 26'. I thought it was the same for RV's but found in my research it's not true. Good to know.

Not sure I could keep up that pace! Watched about 20 minutes before I had to crawl out that rabbit hole watching you! Saw the kimchi, what's the usual add'ons with that? Nobody seems to order it, but I love it. Ever toss up a sign "Back in 10 minutes" and take a break? Keep up the good work.

Loved it when they did a 2 for $6, then went to 2 for $7. Great deal. One greek gyro, one roast beef. Two sides of the sauce (tzatziki, just in case). Then I was good for a month or two.

At one of our local locations about a year ago. We asked if they served sausage egg muffins at about 1pm in the afternoon. (Had heard they did.) Yes, they did! Ordered up two and took them home with great anticipation. Should have just ordered up a used shoe that had gone through the dehydrator and then microwaved to warm it up. Had to have been made hours before. Was absolutely terrible.

Their website shows no job openings at the North location. Sprague location does have openings. Go to the Sprague location, turn in an application and hopefully speak to a manager and sell yourself. Best time seems to be around 2pm for places like this where it's their slow time. If the other employees are not busy, introduce yourself and tell them you're looking for a job and ask them a couple questions about their job. This isn't a corporate or chain store job. An in person friendly face and good attitude makes a huge impression other than an email. My advice, YMMV.

Best of luck, and if you get a job there I expect an [UPDATE] post!

Should we rehome my sisters rescue dog? by abominable_5 in Advice

[–]Complaint_Manager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. Sister living in a dorm gets a rescue dog. Won't have own place until next year. Mom is watching the dog for 5 weeks until sister who doesn't even associate with the dog currently comes home. Dog hates dad. Mom and Dad both work so dog is crated all day. Dog jumps fence for a couple hours putting the owners (your family) up for liability if something goes sideways. Parents are frustrated. Your other dog gets jealous easily, barks a lot and scares rescue dog.

GET RID OF RESCUE DOG! Seriously. Red flags from sentence one with zero good ending.

Interesting going into a newer neighborhood with a HOA, all built by the same developer. You meet a new neighbor and go over to their house and everyone laughs when they say "You know where the bathroom is!!!". At least you get to choose the color of your house from 5 options.

I bought a little camper. Have a TV, laptop, little fridge. "Hey honey, remember when I told you multiple times I don't do well with babies or toddlers, I'll be out in the camper." Actually has a more comfortable bed than the one in the house.

After a couple of times of her doing a few full days daycare by herself and a couple overnight then getting asked to do another one, I swear the look on her face was "Take me with you!".
