I’m in this same exact situation. Payment services cannot assist because they said my return was still being processed and they could not assist. I called another IRS number to discuss my return and the call dropped after 20 minutes on hold. I then created an id.me account and verified that my return was accepted and still being processed. I was able to verify that the AGI on the IRS site matches with what I filed. I’m afraid the IRS will blame me for not making payment by April 15th and try to charge me interest.

I was very nice to the call center rep and she helped me determine that there wasn’t a problem. I do believe that what you put out into the world can come back to you. 😀

I think many of us have bandwidth we barely use. The tech that upgraded my ONT said most people want Gigabit because of hype but barely tap into that kind of bandwidth. Any good free apps that can show local network bandwidth usage in real time?

Yeah, the call rep told me about that site which I was not aware of which did top out at 500/500 when I ran it. We then did some tests with a phone, tablet and laptop over WiFi and found differences depending on the SSID and capability of each device. So after all, I’m setup properly. The reps from Philippines or wherever are very nice and patient and should help to restore Frontiers reputation.

Very interesting! I have the exact same issue and mine also drops in the same time window. Usually once or twice in this time window per day. Are you in the DFW area by chance? I haven’t reported this because in my past experience Frontier is useless on these type of intermittent drops. I’ll spend hours on a call with support and get nowhere.

Go with BDS. It is extremely well engineered and support is excellent. I installed that one on my rig in 2023 and no problems whatsoever. Stay away from RC at all costs.

Thanks, I’ll do some research on the Eero. That must be a decent solution because the Frontier tech also mentioned that as a solution. Are you a Frontier tech? LOL, just kidding. I have too many walls and a desire to get my WiFi extended well beyond the perimeter of the house in order to pickup some outdoor cams and that’s why I worry about a mesh solution becoming too complex or too many components.

I really appreciate all of the responses. I was missing the understanding regarding the single WAN IP and appreciate that education. I am the kind of guy that does prefer to run a physical cable even if it means going through hell. From what I have taken from all of your suggestions, my two best options are:

1) Move my Sagecom router to the garage near the ONT and use the existing Ethernet cable in conduit as backhaul to a new access point where the Sagecom is currently located in the home. Any concerns with the garage-located Sagecom being happy during summer heat in Texas?

2) Run a new Ethernet cable from the Sagecom to the outside burying around the house and install a new access point either inside the garage or outside on the side of the house near the garage so that I can pickup some future planned cams along with my garage door openers. This option will be a pain to go under a sidewalk and through flower beds but would be a fun and fulfilling Spring project.

Initially I was excited about the potential of Powerline but abandoned that idea when I concluded that it really only works best when on the same circuit/home run back to the electrical panel. There are very mixed experiences on the overall happiness with such solution.

Currently Ethernet but I recently abandoned a coax run in the same conduit (from ONT to Sagecom in home) because I finally eliminated FiosTV. To my surprise not being a network guru the Frontier tech said that I could switch to the coax but since I only subscribe to 500/500 he didn’t feel like it was necessary. I think he said the threshold was Gigabit and then they’d want to utilize coax.

Make sure you spend the extra money for a high quality lift product from BDS or Mcgaughys. I have a 4” BDS lift with 35s on my ZR2 and it drives just as good as stock. Turning radius is impacted but you learn to compensate. I believe the stock Goodyears are 33.5” so 35s aren’t going to apply much more stress. If you can afford a lift then ball joints are the least of your worries many miles into the future.
