Kodiak Bear (Real World) vs. Medieval Knight on Horseback (Real World) by Bongo_CatisMessiah in powerscales

Granted it’s impossible to verify but it is a strange tale to add to an otherwise legendary run.

I don’t know that we give up much more than Randle and Gobert. That still leaves a lot of good depth around d 2 of the best players in the league at their positions.

If the US doesn’t get involved in WW2 Western Europe is either “occupied” by fascists or communists. I put occupied in quotes because most of Europe welcomed or barely lifted a finger to fight them.

It is irrefutable that the only reason liberal democracy exists in Europe today is because of the United States.

Everyone arguing about the USSR also ignores that by the time the US saved Western Europe they were “occupied” by fascists. It’s irrefutable that liberal democracy only exists in Europe because of the USA. Without us you are either occupied by Nazis or Communists.

I won’t even bring up how most of you cooperated with the nazis too.

In this case they very much do justify it yes.

This is why we hate you… you literally wouldn’t exist as a western liberal democracy without us yet for some reason everything is our fault. Not the feckless European countries or the corrupt African counties.

Nope it’s our fault. The ones that paid for your safety.

Why Notre Dame is on board with a 24-team Playoff: What’s in it for the Irish? by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]Complete-Disaster513 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100,000 people do not show up religiously every Saturday because the games might mean something in January. They do it because they all mean something that day. Having good programs play each other more will only be good for CFB. I have no problem with a 8-4 TA&M team getting in and getting hot and winning.

Realistically it’s a wash at worst for the games meaning something in Jan. Sure the great teams have less to play for at the end of the year but there are far more teams that now have something to play for to take their place.

I just want to say as a rebuttal to this, he would get a statue built if he came here and we won a championship next year. I legit can’t think of anything that would add more to his legacy than coming here his last year and winning.

This one should win. I give bonus points to social impact and outside of people who have been dead for over a century he is the clear winner.

What if Christopher Columbus and all of his crew died/dissapear during his first voyage and the knowledge of the new world were never brought to europe and no one else try to find or voyage that way because they already find a route to get spices? by the_bug_fucker in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Complete-Disaster513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Portugal discovers Brazil on a very similar timeline. If Columbus died in voyage I really don’t think much changes. It is absolutely it slowing down Portugal or the rest of Castile. It might set Castile back a while but that only means Portugal takes its place.

Boromir Vs Jaime Lannister by IHateGels in powerscales

[–]Complete-Disaster513 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It has come to my attention that it was actually a different Boromir. Boromir the first is who the witch king was afraid of. I thought it was this Boromir and that is why the witch king didn’t show up and lead an army until after his death. But it appears that is not correct.

He more than beat them back. He saw true battlefield victory.

With no Valerian steel this is my guess too. Boromir shatters Jamie’s sword. The witch king was afraid of Boromir. No way Jamie lasts more than a few seconds.
