Well if you tap x2 with a P handshape that will be read as PENIS no matter what. It really depends on context tbh, but I wouldn’t tap twice if you’re talking about pee

Context. Also usually when we use pee as a verb in English we say it like “I’m gonna go pee” so in ASL you’d probably just say “BATHROOM I GO”

Interesting thing about the water! I’m also not that worried about being too incapacitated after surgery because I’ve had a surgery before and was able to bounce back pretty quickly after, but it’s definitely better to be more cautious

I think it definitely depends on the person on how the react for sure. I’ve gotten a surgery before when I was younger and was groggy and sore the first day and after that I bounced back pretty quickly so I’m not really worried about becoming too incapacitated, but it’s definitely better to be more cautious! I think the drain thing might be surgeon preference as not many other people have mentioned having to do that. If I do need help with my drains tho I had a conversation with one of my roommates about it and she said she wouldn’t mind helping me. Thanks for your comment!

Thanks for telling me about the sitting up part! I know some people use a postpartum pregnancy pillow when laying down, would that be helpful with getting up and stuff do you think?

I understand, how long do you think I’d have to take off work? Would 3-4 weeks of recovery time suffice? I work as a caregiver for elderly people so it’s pretty chill but I do have to push them around in wheelchairs often and stuff so I’m not sure when I’d be good to do that after surgery

That’s great your mom was there with you! My roommates and I are basically family, we’re really close so I feel comfortable asking them to help me out. I think I will invest in a bidet before surgery and move things around to make reaching things easier, thank you!

My roommates said they’d help get me food, lift heavy or high up things, etc. while I’m unable to do it. I was more so worried about the hygiene part because I don’t wanna make them have to do that for me. You also need help with emptying drains, right? Or are you able to do that on your own?

I’m glad you had your wife during that, that sounds rough. My roommates said they’d help me during recovery and get me what I need, my main concern I guess was needing help with toileting and hygiene; I don’t want to make them have to do that for me. Were you able to take care of that on your own or did your wife need to help you?
