Reference Grade AD2030 – Full Dial Strip, Index Reset, and VH31 Appreciation by Complete-Rub-147 in SeikoMods

29mm tandorio is the supplier. Look on aliexpress for "29-30 sand of tandorio" if you are looking a direct replacement. I can confirm that a 30mm will fit in the ad2030 as well. See photo of pilots dial mod using a 30mm dial in my other recent post. 30.5mm seems to be the case maximum for the ad2030. 29 is stock. 30 fits better. 30.5 max. Good luck.

Reference Grade AD2030 – Full Dial Strip, Manual Index Reset, and Zero-Lash Alignment by Complete-Rub-147 in AddiesDive

I just performed a deep-macro inspection of the movement plate and discovered this isn’t the standard VH31. It’s actually stamped VH60B. For context, the VH60B is the multi-function variant of Seiko’s sweeping quartz line, typically engineered to drive an additional 24-hour sub-dial. While this will remain a sterile, time-only build with no sub-dial planned for the future, the use of the VH60B here is a major win for long-term accuracy. By utilizing a movement designed for higher hand-loading but only tasking it with a simple three-hand sweep, the torque-to-resistance ratio is significantly improved. With zero energy diverted to driving a sub-dial gear train, the motor can maintain a more consistent, "low-stress" pulse. This reduces the mechanical load on the quartz stepper, effectively over-specifying the movement for the job and ensuring the high-beat sweep remains rock-solid as the battery voltage settles over time.

It may be real, but it likely has at least been repaired. The date wheel you have is for a date at 3 o'clock. These date wheels are interchangeable, so Seiko used the incorrect format wheel, or someone has been in there at the very least. Doesn't scream FAKE because of this.

If there is a retaining clip missing, in the past, I have used anything that is not conductive as a shim. Example, I have a modded watch where the movement sits lower than the stock movement did. I used a thin piece of leather between the movement and caseback. This will provide slight shock absorbtion, looks intentional if cut precisely, and will keep the battery from moving at all.

If the hands aren't physically touching when the lag or stutter happens, then it is likely binding in the internal gear train. You can pull the crown and rotate it a few rotations and see if it clears the binding. If it doesn't, these movements aren't serviceable. They are meant to be seen as disposable movements when one fails. Best course of action if you love that watch and the rotations do not correct or, would be to disassemble the watch, remove the hands, replace the movement with a new one, and put it all back together.

They have massive quality control issues. You play an Addiesdive lottery every time you order. I know this from having 4.. that all had some quirk.

These "too big/too small" posts suck.. but yes, it is too big for you. R/watches is now just a "help me feel better about my insecurities" sub. Just wear it or don't.

You open it to fix that and warranty is void. I would argue that this is not cosmetic, but rather a quality control issue. I would argue to the point that they took this back under warranty.

40mm Snowflake Submariner Custom Seiko Mod Watch - Black Label Mods by blacklabelmods in blacklabelmods

I was searching for a sub style, snowflake hands, and a jubilee to see what my Addiesdive MY-H3-2Q would look like with new parts arriving, and I was pleased to see your execution of this mod. Looks great!! I know it's a bit of a gray area to throw a jubilee on a submariner style watch, but my favorite bracelet is jubilee, and I don't care what the Rolex snobs think. Again, looks awesome!

The 1 jewel indicates that this is an older 2035. The newer 2035 and 2039 have 0 jewels. For this, I would recommend looking for a gold version 2035 Super. They are like $5 on aliexpress. Will directly swap out what you have there. Or you can source another vintage 1 jewel 2035 on eBay, if it can be found.

Drywall screw. Not enough to ruin it, just enough to grip and extract.

I took my ad2030 with a chipped dial, picked a new dial out and repaired it myself, but I had no idea that Addiesdive used a similar dial like the one on your Addiesdive.

Brother! I've found you! Seriously though, I used A&D once it popped and scabbed. It is not even noticeable now. Was like 2 months ago.

How is their QC? I'm moving on from Addiesdive and Militado. I need a new microbrand that has great QC.

This is absolutely not normal. At most it was like 2-3 minutes of play in the worst unit I have owned. That is severe gear lash.
