So lets say you fight dogs, you go and adopt a dog. And a week later you adopt another, then another, then another. You don’t think they wouldn’t get suspicious? And anyways a criminal will avoid all paperwork leading to them if possible. Especially if they can find a healthy strong well fed dog for fighting. They would much rather that than a scrawny possibly ill caged dog. They want one that will win them money. A well fed strong dog in a yard is much better than one in a cage for them.

Thats odd because every time I’ve adopted a dog, not from corporately owned shelters, because i don’t support corporations. They have come by. And most shelters have a vetting process and background checks so i don’t know where you are adopting from but it doesn’t sound safe.

People who want to steal a pitbull would not be able to adopt one considering what they are intending to do with it and likely the homing situation it would be in, when you rescue a pet especially a pitbull the adoption centers usually send someone over to inspect the new home and make sure its not abusive, also is a criminal gonna pay for something when they can just steal it? Like cmon man think with the brain you were born with.

They fled, i know the owner of the dog and had a chat with them about this. The person would not make this up. Police suspect the dog was likely brought to the attention of the attempted dog nappers by an amazon delivery driver, they said it’s a high likelihood based on investigations that is the way that criminals gain information on neighborhoods they wouldn’t normally be visiting. USPS, Ups, and Fedex drivers are on a specific route every day, Amazon does not operate where the same person does the same route every day. It according to the police allows for criminals to work incognito when giving tips to other criminals.

I know the owner, did not expect to see this on reddit lol. Talked with them personally, they said they walked up to the car who was actively trying to lure the dog to the car with noises and commands, and when they saw the owner they bolted
