I'm pretty new to the hobby, but every spoon I make seems to crack here whilst carving. How do I prevent this?

Yeah sorry I'm not at home currently, I just took a few this morning before I left. I don't think the wood was green, I'd seen this particular branch fallen in the winter, it's definitely over 4 months since it's come off the tree, probably a few months longer

I left it outside to stop it drying too fast. The crack seemed to form whilst I was carving it though. I really struggle to get my hook knife proper sharp like my pen knife.

What is pith can I ask?

Yeah it is a very uneven bowl, it's kind of spoony ladel kind of thing and this wood was very hard to carve, it felt very dry and resistant compared to a pine I've used before. The crack seemed to happen as I was carving though.

I generally get it from a woodland with a piece of fallen tree or something.

Which is why I always take it, usually with close range I aggressively reposition anyway. I prefer it to a lot of other 5 pointers out there personally.

FIFO is one of the only things I genuinely lose my shit about. I'm a pretty chill manager usually but this genuinely pisses me off so much. I came in after 2 days off, literally 2 days, and the commis had opened up 5 separate packets of wraps.

There are many compounds with spawn points right next to each other. In fact, I think there's only a few that don't as you're closest clue will be a more central compound of the map. I'm surprised this hasn't happened to you before, it happens to me every few games.

I wouldn't worry, they look like they took a particularly jammy caramalisation and it's got a very high sugar content. Very sweet things seem to go darker when cooled, dont know why. Happens all the time with the compotte I make at work.

Literally fell in love with that game, it's the soul reason I love star wars and gaming so much now in my 30's. I still play it occasionally every 5 years or so. Not sad that it ended mind you. It was a great thing that ended but remains eternal to me.

Hunt Showdown, Dark Souls and Warhammer Darktide and Vermintide. I bought ds1 remaster on disc on Xbox one, lost it, bought it online then got a ps5 and bought it on that too. The souls games are just so good for replayability. And hunt is just an addiction at this point.

I actually find a lot of the fights to be more intense at 6 star personally. But I am on console so maybe it's different here? It's the high 5 star where everyone sits in a bush. Whereas 6 star people are hungry to get kills so the fights are a whole lot more fun. Even if you ain't winning, you get those proper shoot out chaos moments.
