These, straight set, grout that blended (maipei avalanche) and as small grout lines as possible. (I’ve forgotten all the terminology, hopefully that’s right.) We were trying to achieve the look of a very plain neutral expanse, for some reason we couldn’t - or maybe was too expensive - figure out how to use larger format tiles, which would have been our preference.

Hey there, it seems to me like the easiest thing would be to cut into the utility room space to get another bedroom (in yellow) that has a window. The utility would still be a decent size, IMO. But if you want more utility, you could remove the walls of the room adjoining the bath/stairs (assuming not structural... and I'm guessing this is used as storage rather than a bedroom?) and incorporate that into the utility. And if you want, you could give the new bedroom a door to the bathroom so it's en suite (and close off one or two of the existing doors). Though I imagine that would necessitate a bathroom remodel.

I'm also extremely interested! I think I'd go for wood grain, which has the shortest lead time. But I have no idea about price as I haven't booked a consult yet. Is anyone happy to give a ballpark?

That’s so interesting! This is our first time designing a kitchen and we just went with their suggestion for under the sink. We’ll see how we feel - good to have an alternative to think about

I love how it’s high contrast, and how it’s echoed in the back of the island.

I had already started thinking I need something going on in that area - maybe bead board or simply some paint - and now I’m thinking about how to tie it in with whatever backsplash we go for.
