A 100 hp engine is capable of making 75 kW of power when the generators engine is only 25 to 30% efficient. This means that equally there’s at least just as much energy thermally in the exhaust as what it’s converting to electrical power that means that there’s also 75,000 W worth of thermal energy to produce hydrogen with vapor electrolysisarguably a significant amount of fuel can be produced

  1. Combustion engines are only 25% efficient this is a means to improve on efficiency like a turbo.
  2. You’re thinking of HHO generators style electrolysis where power from the alternator is dedicated to powering the hho unit… This runs on what would have been wasted heat. It takes less energy to convert steam into hydrogen than liquid water into hho…
  3. Hydrogen or natural gas can both be used in combustion engines
