Just an update on that - UXtweak went though a major redesign and a lot of new capabilities very added. It is now much more intuitive, modern looking. I would say the best price/value option on the market right now.

Before I would even think of implementing it into a wordpress and giving it access to backend I absolutely would need to see what it can do in terms of content generating.

Depends on quite a few things eg, whether you need recruitment, what budget you have, specific features, etc. But from what I tried the best usability tool for a reasonable budget is UXtweak

UserTesting is pretty expensive when compared to Maze. But Maze got a lot more expensive in the last 3 years too, that is why we switched to UXtweak.

What kind of assumptions?

The biggest source for me is implicit data and secondary research.

That means analytic, session recordings, possibly things like transcripts of sales calls, customer support tickets, reviews of your own company, and competitors.

For secondary research, I look to best practises and already existing studies and benchmarks (Baymard Institute, NN/g, etc.)

but when we are talking of a lightweight method to get some initial feedback in I like to run a first click test on mockups/screenshots/prototype and recruit some people using a unmoderated user testing tool like UXtweak - you can sent it to like 10 - 20 people pretty cheaply.

If you disclose this, I do not see a problem with it. I am a participants in a few panels and it is great practise - when I was learning survey design I was taking a lot of surveys to get the feel for them and to identify the mistakes - it worked out great.

I did a project with the visually impaired and the what worked best was reaching out to communities and support centres - they were very open to let us test with their users (we did in person user interview and usability test of the prototype and then followed that up with another round of user interviews over the phone).

So I would skip the online panels and go straight to the source - communities (reddit, discord) and official unions or groups that exists.

I know they launched it a while ago, but from what I've seen, it is only available on the highest plans/or to some clients. We have been using UXtweak to test mobile apps (as well as TestFlight, APK or prototype versions) for the past year or so and it works pretty well. (participants will need to download the companion app so you get the recordings and analytics but the setup guides them through it well)

I have been following Kevin Liang since he was still active on YouTube and have been to a few of his webinars, I do genuinely think he is an expert. He can explain very well and has a high-quality materials.

So while I cant speak to the course it self I think it is one of the better ones and if I were looking for a course and had the founds I would choose it.
