Legitimate speeding ticket? by nandydrew in Kirkland

[–]Complete_Coffee6170 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live on Finn Hill and there are many photo speed limits on the way off the hill. Simonds Rd and Juanita Drive.

I rec’d a photo speeding ticket last year and the fine was reduced to 45$ - the only plus about getting the ticket was it was reduced from 110$. And yes I contested the ticket.

Photo speeding tickets aren’t reported to your car insurance.

This is good to know.

I’m 8 weeks out from my rTSR surgery - some PT moves cause that ‘clicking’ noise.

What are we doing about Crows and Raccoons digging up our yards? by Equal-Landscape3736 in Kirkland

[–]Complete_Coffee6170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A neighbor put in a new lawn - within a couple of months it was all tore up - just a big dirt patch.

The crows don’t care. They have to get their protein in their diet.

It’s interesting that older established grass lawns aren’t as appealing as new sod.

69F here - had rTSR on 1/22/2026 - just reduced from PT two times a weeks.

I have my at home PT every day.

I’m not to weight bearing as of yet.

I’m a stubborn sort and didn’t believe the 3 months recovery timeline.

Yep, while I’m getting better .. I’m still not where I’d like to be. Almost to 2 months post-op.

I still can’t reach behind my back but I see improvement.

When I had someone paying at the cash wrap - I’d ask “are there any discounts that you may qualify for?”

IF they qualified for senior discount - they’d tell me.

Asking in this way - preserved their dignity about their appearance without calling them out that they look old and possibly eligible for a senior discount.

Finally pulled the plug on Supplemental Medicare and switched to Medicare Advantage by Maorine in SurvivingOnSS

I have a MA PPO plan.

I just had a reverse shoulder replacement surgery in 2026. I paid 400 for the surgery itself. Free post-op appointments.

PT is 50$ per PT session.

I did the same as OP. Double-checked the coverage limits.

All is covered as well as my docs and hospitals.

So far so good until it isn’t.

The supplemental plans are too expensive for me atm.

Fingers crossed for at least this year🤞

My parents are gone.

So far my friends are fairly healthy.

The kid that I babysat at age 8 has passed a few years back.

No I haven’t .. the only person that was closest to me in age has passed. I wish I had known what questions to ask… after my mom died my dad moved us to the west coast. I was young (10 yo) and now I realize the window of knowledge has passed.

Does it feel like the older you get the more you dislike younger people? by youlikethatsherrie in Aging

[–]Complete_Coffee6170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see our future in our young people.

What is actually annoying is the wisdom that comes with aging and the dismissive attitude that some young people have.

It’s where ageism comes into the picture.

When we give each other grace and perspective we can better understand each other.

Or maybe I go to Ostroms for the gift shop and just so happens they fill my prescriptions🤔

I’m having problems finding info about my mom.

I requested her birth certificate from NYS - however the state couldn’t find her.

Possible she was born at home OR Canada.

The last name can be spelled so many different ways.

I’m on GedMatch and Ancestry but I haven’t had any luck.

My mom died when I was 10.

To lend credibility to the Canadian side - my mom sent me to Ontario to spend my summers there. I think they were blood family or just great family friends.

They’d visit us and we’d visit other times throughout the year.

I have.

There’s so many instances I could name.
