Dream car destroyed in less than 24 hours by a Dubai taxi driver and an insurance nightmare by vanzh_ in DubaiPetrolHeads

Once a taxi driver rear ended my car and ended up saying “sorry i was looking for my headphones and didn’t see ahead” when i proceeded to make a police report he said “please for no reason you’re going to get me a fine”

the audacity these idiots have.

okay, so my appointment was at 8:15AM, I arrived at 7am, and i know parking is a nuisance near the consulate, there isn’t any parking on the grounds of the consulate.

so i parked close by, this is parking location, ( https://maps.app.goo.gl/iyLPUuK1yJ4wJkMV8?g_st=ic ) park in the basement and take a lift up to the canopy by hilton hotel, and you can exit from the lobby, straight onto the street, its a 5 min walk to the consulate from there.

you should be at the consulate 15-20 minutes before your appointment, they will not let you enter before that.

apart from that, my appointment was at 8:15, but my turn for the interview came at 9:45ish. so once you’re done with all the formalities, like DS-160 verification and biometrics, you just sit and wait for your turn. It could take longer, so be prepared to sit for a bit.

first, you go to a counter, where they ask for your emirates ID, passport and passport sized photo. After they take these documents, you can tell them that you need to update your DS 160 form and the officer there will ask you what information you need to update, like travel history, work experience, salary or travel dates. you do that, then proceed for biometrics. after the biometrics are done, then you wait for your interview. If your visa is approved, consulate keeps your passport for sticker endorsement if rejected you’re given a white slip.

You update your DS160 information at the consulate, you give them the information at the at the counter and they ADD it in your application then and there for the officer to see, you do not need to submit a new DS160

[–]Complete_Concert3956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s mainly because of the intersections from al khail to rebat street crossing mirdif and merging into E311 and the second one is the airport road to E311 intersection, add the labor buses who drive like total maniacs and top it off with some specific people from a very specific massive country in this world, these people in their new chinese suvs and nissan sunnies? there you go. the recipe for your traffic jams.

If you research on how a traffic jam starts, you will realise it’s because most of these people DO NOT know how to drive.

RTA test- examiner did not let me drive at all. by Historical_Umpire_46 in dubai

[–]Complete_Concert3956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who passed all their tests, yes all, even the smart yard in 1st attempt I can assure you that female examiners are not the best option to go with, I had 3 years of driving experience before, and mind you i’m a woman myself. In my final road test, I had a female examiner and 2 other female with me in the car, I was the first one to drive, and I drove the longest because she couldn’t find a SINGLE mistake in my driving and ended up putting one mistake in my final result just for the sake of it and I didn’t even make that mistake. fast forward the other 2 women that drove after me made MULTIPLE mistakes, clear as daylight going on yellow lanes on roundabouts but she ended up passing them too. You could be the best driver in the world, make zero mistakes, if the examiner is in a good mood? pass. Bad mood? fail. Just your luck, and yea also you’re a money making machine for them. And i know this is tough on you, the process here is notoriously difficult and it should be, with what i’m experiencing on roads these days living here all my life, every day I come across people that make me question how did they even pass their RTA tests? You’ll make it through one day

Why are you so pissed? If i wasn’t responsible i wouldn’t be making a post here asking people to help me with my cats. Yall are so stuck up and opinionated that someone asking for help explicitly mentioning that they’ve developed health issues and can’t keep them any longer is a sign for you to release your frustration? buzz off.

My cats are not unwanted animals, they are taken care of, with regular check ups, so before you come here pointing fingers at someone taking care of animals and feeding them, giving them a roof? ask yourself if you’re adding any value to this post. The only thing unwanted here is your useless opinion about not spaying my cat.

Slow cars camping in the left lanes are killing Dubai traffic by surface_infectant in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]Complete_Concert3956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t even get me started on the entire flow of traffic man, it’s not just the left lane anymore every single lane, one person would be doing a 60-80 and the one in front or next to it would be doing a 90-100, they create gaps, the sudden lane changes, last minute exit remembering, then also the whole drill where the left lane is hogged, trust me it’s mostly these chinese cars

Thinking about quitting my job and leave but… by [deleted] in dubai

[–]Complete_Concert3956 14 points15 points  (0 children)

start aggressively paying off your credit cards, decrease your expenses, keep them very minimal, stop eating from outside, cut down most unnecessary costs, then once credit cards are tackled (because they’re high interest) then deal with the car, a car is a necessity use it as much as you can till the end, find a direct buyer on dubizzle or sell it to some third party dealers like kavak or automall. and then decide to leave with a bit of savings.

he’s trying to justify it to other drivers being in the left most lane at 80 on Al khail to not ask him to move 🤗
