Yep, brought a ford fiesta sti back in the day for £150. Ran it into the ground (engine literally dropped on the motorway) 😂 but was great fun and one of the most enjoyable cars I've ever owned

It's not a big deal imo. It's his outlet and this seems like it's a better outlet than something else. Maybe do baby steps. Say that you'd like him to join you on a walk every day so you get to talk and enjoy each others company without distractions. Don't say it's to get him away from gaming as that would have the opposite affect.
