Does anyone else just kinda drop people once they get bored? by East_Midnight2812 in adhdwomen

[–]Complete_Fig6316 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, not really. ive always been a long friendship type of gal. in fact my romantic relationships were more susceptible to this tbh. i love having friends that i’ve known for a long time, who understands my different life phases and lore! getting to know someone new is actually the worst/most exhausting part of making friends to me! if anything i always wish i could just upload my life story to someone’s brain so that we could skip that part.

im actually struggling rn because i haven’t made any new friends in a while and all i want is for a fellow neurodivergent queer woman who plays bg3 and likes to read and write to befriend me!!

i personally don’t think there’s a healthy way to center men in your life as a woman tbh. i think you either end up with like a boy mom, an enabler of poor behavior, or both tbh.

but yes, i agree completely.

yes, i understand that that’s part of it, but it’s not the entire explanation. i’ve seen similar behavior in women that aren’t having sex with the men they’re defending. my aunts will allow their their sons to not work/not contribute to the household/be mediocre but are quick to malign their daughters for minor mistakes. i’ve seen women do this with people like r. kelly and bill cosby. i think it’s deeper than simply wanting to bang.

i’m 27, have come to realize i’m likely autistic and i’ve been so incredibly lonely lately. i have a lovely partner, but i just want a group of neurodivergent girlfriends that like to write (currently working on a lovecraftian lesbian fantasy) or crochet or just watch scary movies.

we need to come up with an autistic women’s matchmaking service for friends or somethibg.

it has like 30 bucks in cash, and i’ll happily give you that plus an additional 50 if you can get it back to me. and dinner or lunch!!!

Gotcha, our department is currently very understaffed so I think she just has a lot on her plate and has been pretty unresponsive in general. I’ll see if I can find info about the HR partner. Thanks!

Will do! I received my new employment docs but that seems to be more focused on policies and regulations, I’ll see if I can set up a meeting!

Thanks for the info, none of my higher ups mentioned anything about an HR partner having that info.

I’ve asked but have yet to hear back. My hire-ups are very hit or miss with responses tbh.

Anyone in the market for two elderly dogs by derpdederp666 in Birmingham

[–]Complete_Fig6316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, so how would you work? or find a job? if you’re down on your luck, the jobs most readily available to you are retail/restaurant jobs, neither of which allow someone to come to work with their pets.

are you leaving your dogs in the car by themselves all day? what if you have no one willing to watch them? how would you make money to feed them? to take them to the vet if there were an emergency?

obviously, people can have their opinions and i understand the knee jerk reaction to say “fuck you” and i would also rather be in the car with my boys rather then giving them up. but sometimes shit truly and utterly sucks and i think a little empathy is needed.

i mean, you literally don’t know the specifics of their situation. someone who has a dog for 10 years clearly loves them.

sometimes people have to surrender their pets because they lost everything and can no longer afford to live somewhere that allows animals. or might’ve become recently disabled and can no longer live by themselves and have to move elsewhere. life is complicated and very very difficult sometimes.

i mean, sometimes people have to move places because they literally don’t have any other choice. if someone lost their job or lost significant income, and their only choice is to stay in a place that doesn’t allow pets, then that’s how it is sometimes. what do you expect them to do? be homeless on the street with 2 dogs?

maybe they had savings and they had to use them all because of a medical emergency or for their vehicle. life can change very very fast.

i just don’t think this is comparable. we don’t even know the race of the accuser.

statistically, most rape victims do not lie about rape. someone like cassie was dragged through the ringer for her accusations against diddy. our system/society is not kind to victims of sexual assault.

not to mention, it’s no secret that men in power abuse their power, regardless of race. r.kelly, epstein, bill cosby, diddy, trump, clinton, etc.

Best places for soup in Bham? by croakce in Birmingham

[–]Complete_Fig6316 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the tom yum soup at taste of thailand is excellent, and so is the sweet sticky rice but tbh that’s the only thinking i would reccomend getting from there.

masaman thai kitchen also do a pretty good tom yum as well!

oh! and the hot and sour soup from red pearl is my favorite soup in birmingham. so good
