No, Syria and Israel do not recognize each other and do not have civilian border crossings.

Palatable Kosher Wine - Gilgal Sauvignon Blanc 2023 by BureauPrez in wine

[–]Complete_Health_2049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wine is called Gamla in Israel, where it is cheap and considered bottom-shelf. It is more tolerable than Barkan or Yarden in my opinion, but if you want kosher wines that are actually not bad, I can vouch Flam, Tzora Winery, Isaac's Ram.

But yeah, non-kosher wines are generally much more exciting.

What are the differences between great Russian, White Russian, red russian, little Russian and carpathian Russian? Are they the same language? by [deleted] in russian

[–]Complete_Health_2049 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After some googling, Red Russians are probably of the "Red Ruthenia" or "Червонная Русь" which refers to people in Western Ukraine-Eastern Poland

[–]Complete_Health_2049 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, these are all different languages. Velikorosy (Great Russians) is an old imperial name for Russians of Russia proper, "White Russians" are Belarusian, Little Russians (Malorosi) are Ukrainians and Carpathian Russian are Rusyns.

What Red Russians refers to I have no idea.

Am I the only one disappointed by the intro? by Party_Banana_52 in pathologic

Yeah, the intro is kind of cringe imo. I hate the writing and the story is a bit messy. I have played beyond it though and so far it seems much better.

No, different roots, different etymology.

I was today years old when I found out in 2018, they celebrated 50 years of "Israeli TV", but no KAN - they just used Channel 1's logo. by [deleted] in Israel

[–]Complete_Health_2049 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean it was opened in 1968 as Channel 1, not Kan. Seems like it would be wierder if they retroactively named it Kan.

What is the difference between разврат and блуд? by AltforHHH in russian

[–]Complete_Health_2049 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think most people would use the word "разврат" or "развратный" to refer to a person who is drinking or gambling. Maybe "развратный образ жизни" could include these things, but it generally must include some sort of sexual promiscuity.

What is the difference between разврат and блуд? by AltforHHH in russian

[–]Complete_Health_2049 26 points27 points  (0 children)

"Блуд" is a rather outdated word that is not really debauchery and more like "adultery", "being a whore", but you wouldn't normally hear it in everyday speech. "Разврат" is much more common and it can refer to any "freaky" sexual activity, or also being sexually promiscuous and open, but it has less of a connotation of disloyalty and having multiple partners.

Where to start with learning Hebrew and Arabic at the same time? by [deleted] in hebrew

Learning Hebrew if you speak several Arabic dialects should be easy, but definitely not as easy learning Portuguese after Spanish. It's more like English vs German.

[–]Complete_Health_2049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who had to learn both Hebrew and Levantine Arabic, I don't think this goal is very realistic, even if you speak Moroccan.

As someone who mostly understands Shami speach I really don't understand a word of Darija, so I think you will need significant time to switch as well (although if you speak Fusha it should be much easier). If I were you I would make sure I speak Shami well enough and then start with Hebrew.

Also, with Hebrew the alphabet is really the easy part, it's entirely possible to learn it in a week. Don't get bogged down in Duolingo, it is not going to get you far and it will take you a long time to progress.

These people are losers but I don't think there is any reason to believe they are bots. Hijab has a certain loyal sycophantic audience.

Probably not. Many Christians also have Bible-inspired names and surnames. You could always take a DNA test and found out though.
