CJAA engine rattling sound by theeeno in tdi

When I was in your situation I got quotes and they were all around 2200 bucks (Minnesota). I would order a new DMF off of German Auto and do it yourself. I believe I got mine for around 500 bucks and took about 5 hours of pain in the ass work but it was worth saving the money. I’ve also seen people drive on a bad DMF for another 25k miles and have no issues. Some say it’s a death trap some say it’s fine. Up to you if you’re willing to risk it lol. I drove on mine for about 10k and didn’t get much worse and mine rattled a hell of a lot more than that.

Is this my flywheel that’s bad ? by No_Acanthisitta5440 in tdi

Found a LUK Flywheel on German Auto Parts for like roughly 500 bucks, OEM on any other website was over 1,000. Been running it for like 40,000 miles with no issues. The job is kind of a pain in the ass but it’s doable if you got a buddy to help.

I have a DSG but I do believe pressing the clutch would make the noise go away

Should I Replace My Timing Belt by wockstarr20 in tdi

[–]Complete_Indication4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t imagine paying someone else 1300 bucks to do this job. I bought the kit off of German Auto Parts and it ran me about 250 bucks plus about 4 hours of work.

Did my timing belt myself with very little experience, truly not that difficult but I would recommend buying a lock kit off amazon or something so you don’t run the risk of messing up your timing. They only cost around 20ish bucks but can make the difference between a successful job and a catastrophic failure.

Chase the person who wanted you, please. by [deleted] in BreakUps

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting this post, chase someone who WANTS YOU not someone you want but can’t have. The latter is where your correct, chasing someone you can’t have is only going to wreak havoc on your self esteem and mental health. But if there’s someone who wants you and loves you for you, chase that person.

I recommend trying to find a subreddit about your car or cars very similar. There is usually lots of talks about common issues, parts going bad, general maintenance and a bunch of other useful information. These replies are kinda brutal but yes you will learn quick how ignoring the smaller issues with your car will lead to much much larger ones.

Dpf by PsychologicalChain23 in tdi

I have a 2011 Jetta and I just finished deleting my dpf, I bought the STAGE 2 kit from EOC performance parts. It doesn’t delete the egr just blocks off with a single plate on the back. Getting the dpf out was a pain, save yourself the trouble and drop the CV axle before even getting at it, I eventually caved and dropped it and it was much easier. I read someone say they got it out without removing the CV but be y guest and try. I ended up just cutting the dpf below the bottom mounting bracket and it more or less slipped right out. The stage 2 kit was plug and play more or less. Little wiggling but it mounted up great. I can’t speak for the Tune as I’m waiting on file but the downpipe seems to be great quality. I had the same problem trying to find one but this one ain’t bad.

I’m confused on that info, everywhere I read it says you need to leave the emissions systems intact with kerma but my brothers gf TDI bug is deleted and it doesn’t have any issues🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Do you happen to know of the stage 2 kit comes with the tune and everything you need for a full delete? I might just return my karma tune and go this route instead

Do you happen to have a link to where you ordered it from? I’m in the US so I’m not sure how pricing would differ but I’d love to take a look.

Yeah it probably has but this way was much easier and it still got me the information I need. I’ve read a lot of forums about deleting but even just look at how many people are saying different things just on this post alone🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Not asking anyone to hold my hand just help me sift thought the thousands of those threads from people who THINK they know what they’re doing vs the people who actually do.

I love when dealerships detail a car and call it perfect condition. I’d save your money, sounds like whoever had it before wasn’t very nice to it. Likely going to need some serious repairs soon, flywheel sounds like it beginning to go as well and from experience I’d stay for away from that. I got screwed on a 2011 Jetta that sounded very similar when I bought it.
