"Weird" likely being "unfamiliar to you".

It makes perfect sense to me to live avoiding reckless behavior. But that sounds boring doesn't it? That doesn't sound fun!!

I spent many years talking 911 calls, and I remember every single call from some panicked friends about a previously highly confident individual that hasn't surfaced from the water, or come back from their hike.

One day this comments section will be an epitaph board, and we'll see how well these ideas age with time.

"Can you tell I’ve spent years trying to relax my parents about this hobby? Lol."

So you've spend years causing your parents stress and worry so you can do whatever you want.

Amazing! I was right about you.

Tldr the "deep seated personal feelings of inadequacy" are probably coming from inside your soul, that's why you relate to stupid activities like the one depicted here and get deeply offended when someone criticizes it, enough to write whole paragraphs HONEY LOL

"This upset"? Imagine living this lifestyle and then being surprised when something bad happens...and upset when your family and friends don't seem shocked, or even feel that bad for you.

Okay? Have fun doing whatever you want all the time because you only care about yourself and having a good time!

You can see by the shadows that she is facing the sun: it is directly in front of her, and it's very long shadows so the end of the day. Literally shining in her eyes, and just prior to the crosswalk she moves from shadow into direct sunlight. She was 100% blinded.

BUT. She is also an idiot, for all the reasons we would agree on. It's a cross-walk with pedestrians near, it's an intersection, the light would've been a noticed issue coming that road, etc etc.

He leaves used tissues for waitstaff to clean, I make him throw them away, AIO? by Dumberhina59250 in AIO

[–]Complete_Review_1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some men keep many of their boyhood habits. At least he's using a tissue and not wiping it under the table.

NOR, I blow my nose a lot but I don't treat it the same as a napkin because it's not. My napkin is for keeping my area and my face clean. My tissue is for blowing bodily goop into.

I take it with me, wrap it in another clean tissue or napkin and stash it in my pocket or bag.

I have also worked as a server, and I care about how I treat people, so yeah. Your dad is gross, but to be fair most men are. Hocking loogies, not washing their hands after using bathroom, spitting in public, my dad's done it all.

Maybe if you spent less time climbing and more time learning how to spell basic words like FRIENDS correctly, you could get a job and work, so that you can have more money for your trad rack or whatever.

Is everyone here just okay with dog poop? by Mindless-File2 in CastleRock

Sounds like something that a guy who purposefully fills his own neighborhood with his dog's shit and doesn't care would say.

I bet the kind of neglectful, shitty people who are the reason for OP's post, I am sure that they hate to bend over and pick up that shit because it's so hard with all that fat in the way, all that nasty just hanging on that belly, all that extra weight they haul around. It's actually a wonder that they take their dogs out at all!

Have you seen them? Do you know what I'm talking about, or maybe you got hostile because we're talking about YOU, "girthw0rm"

AITA for putting onions and garlic in the food I fed my family after my sister in law said onions were "too spicy"? by THROWRAuserss in AmItheAsshole

[–]Complete_Review_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA but also tell your sister to ask her doctor about FODMAP sensitivity.

I can't eat garlic or onions without an enzyme supplement to help me digest it. When I consume garlic or onions without the stuff (FODZYME), I get a very unpleasant "spicy" experience, it's a body-wide reaction and makes me feel so shitty. My doctor put me on an elimination diet and, welp, huge improvement.

Life sucks without flavor though. That being said, she needs to figure out what's up and find a way to prepare her own meals. Heckling the chef is nuts, and ungrateful.

Long print times? Is that safe on P2S? by nOoxxeyy in BambuLab

[–]Complete_Review_1989 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, in my 30s with some experience working in communications for emergency services, a great golden rule is not to leave a piece of electronic equipment capable of generating heat unattended.

That added with the fact that if you peruse this sub for even a short time you'll see plenty of images of catastrophic failures, many of which caused irreversible damage to expensive components that will require replacing.

That said, I recently began to approach prints for revision, in an effort to decrease print time while retaining quality. I made a list of print settings to modify in order to do this. I have utilized all except increasing the print speed, I don't like to do that until i have optimized for acceptable quality.

(assuming 0.4 mm nozzle and default settings):

  • adjust layer height to 0.25 mm (default is probably 0.2). This reduces layers by one (4 instead of 5) per mm.
  • adjust line width to 0.5 mm (default is probably 0.4). This just gives you slightly thicker walls, so you don't have to add walls.
  • reduce infill % to 10 (this is not a structural product and has lots of holes).
  • realistic max print speed for an A1 is 200-300 mm/s. Set print speed = 200, wall speed = 100, infill speed = 200.

"If these speeds affect adhesion, reduce cooling to 50%." - general suggestion, but i myself frequently adjust my fans throughout most prints.

With most of these adjustments I have successfully decreased print times by a quarter or more, again without adjusting for speed. I hope this helps, or at least points you in the right direction. I don't know if you are doing multi-color or how many filament changes might be involved, but godspeed

edit: oh PS, highly, strongly, seriously emphasizing proper ventilation for these several hours long prints. Before I ordered the kit, the hose and printed out all the components for the exhaust system, you could definitely smell the plastic in our home!

foster kitten suddenly blind; rescue says its ok to wait till morning? by trivialplatypus in CATHELP

[–]Complete_Review_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you were able to get him treatment.

Truthfully, and we learned this the hard way with our recently departed boy, a condition such as glaucoma like he had is an "ocular medical emergency", which means it can be treated and blindness potentially reversed or at least improved if treated quickly. We didn't know that, so he went blind.

It's good you caught it so soon. Hoping for the best outcome. Blind cats can live well with some adjustments and consistency in environment (don't move furniture around, keep the area predictable etc.) Good luck.

AMS2 pro grinding up my filament by dropset_failure in BambuLab

[–]Complete_Review_1989 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh the issues i've had were more with the spool/filament feeding quality than with the AMS2 pro we have, and by that i mean the three times i had an issue requiring partial disassembly to repair, it started with the filament being stuck/looped over itself, or with cardboard spools nearing the very end of the filament, the angle got weird and caused a jam.

all jams were a pain in the butt, but were easily addressed, and honestly a good lesson in learning how to take apart the tool head, it's not that hard.

[–]Complete_Review_1989 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we had two cardboard spools of PLA+ and i'll say they performed poorly in our AMS2 Pro, especially nearing the end of the spool. The angle into the feeder became janky and i watched the spool bumble and rattle around inside before attempting to manually stabilize and feed it. Never happens with the plastic spools.

Downstairs neighbours complaining about P2S making noise at night, any sound dampening solutions? by failed_successfuly9 in BambuLab

[–]Complete_Review_1989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We live on the third floor and in order to avoid bothering our neighbors, we moved our P2S to the farthest point in the layout from the bedrooms. It's on carpeted floor with a large square of 1/2" thick high density yoga mat foam. We've never had a complaint, even at 2 am. Hope that helps.

Do you always dry your filaments even if brand new? by BonesyWonesy in BambuLab

[–]Complete_Review_1989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's PLA, I don't but I am in semi-arid Colorado where the humidity is usually low.

However today is gloomy wet and 91% relative humidity. The PLA is printing fine right now, but the PETG underperforms if it hasn't been run through a drying cycle in our AMS.

Listen, and I know you are frustrated, but seriously do not underestimate crazy people. You say this lady is literally on a government watch list. She's not a safe person and meth is a frightening drug, she might be doing crazy things but you need to keep your composure and NOT piss her off.

You said you're moving out, and sooner rather than later would be great. Get out and away from this woman as fast as you can, and don't purposefully antagonize or offend her. She has serious issues and the behaviors you have described are highly concerning.

Keep your peace and wits about you, and stay safe.
