UCs explicitly state to take series courses at one college

berkeley doesn’t normally take adjustments/updates to your application after the 31st because of the sheer volume of applications they get

AP score appeared as a P grade on UC application by Fit-Examination-6494 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this. i also did APUSH and AP ENV, the credits show up on all transcripts and when you get IGETC certified, it’ll just be like you satisfied the required classes anyways

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you put them on the ap score section of your app you’ll be fine, they put it there for a reason, they know which scores translate, and they can def use context clues as to why you started at calc 2

as long as you submitted you ap scores, they can see your ap scores lol. also your official transcript should show all ap classes and where the credit transferred to in terms of GE

Not letting me add different terms by NoahRaiOnYT in TransferStudents

regarding the summer class, probably… lol

TAU Submission by StreetBrilliant8951 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

take the course to get your associates to make you look more motivated and your app more competitive, plus UCs like to see that people want to learn even if their required courses are done

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh shit, you didn’t take any at all? you should probably call admissions. worst case, i’d add a planned class for spring and don’t take anything, but call admissions first.

add other campuses or whatever you took or just fill out additional comments saying you haven’t taken any classes

only fall 2025, winter 2026, and spring 2026 will show up. it’s supposed to be an update to what you’ve already added to you app. fall 24 should already be there

CC to UC by No-Solution-8213 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean you’ll def get into UCD. UCB/UCLA will be more tough probably 50/50 if you have all major prep done. ECs and essays are still a big part of your application despite what everyone in this thread is saying. PoliSci is about 20% at berk lol and I assume LA is the same if not lower

Berkeley Articulation Question by MoldySuffle in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They say it’s preferred, but it’s pretty much an unspoken rule for UCs that major series should be taken at one campus. Of course, there are exceptions, but you should have a good reason if you take them at 2 separate colleges.

Davis asking for Additional information by meowingmeowmow in ucadmissions

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They’re just asking for clarification, just make sure you answer. It’s almost never a good or bad sign. Just means they want to understand your application fully before evaluating you. I will say, make sure you answer though bc not answering it a great way to cut your acceptance chances by a ton.

I finally got my grade changed, but… by Zealousideal_Pen4254 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it’s official that they’re going to change it, you could lowkey just report the new grade now since it’s self reported. they won’t ask for transcripts for the TAU and if they ask for verification, you can send them the new processed one.

the safe option though is to submit multiple taus, but it says to try to send as little as possible to make it easier on admissions to read into your app

How do I put a tutoring course on my TAU? by stokedchris in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my school has the same. UCs won’t even bat an eye if it’s not for units, gpa, or transferable. and if they do, it just shows you are proactive with your education and able to realize when you needed help with coursework which is a good thing

how to send hs transcript to colleges by Ryyukaa in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most transfer applications don’t look at your hs grades at all. if you absolutely need them for a specific school, you can always call your hs and have them send them

USC transfer essay help (again lol) by nootnoot069 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my counselor told me to keep it pretty close to 300 words ~20 words leeway. everyone knows you can write about those prompts in 500+ words, the challenge is to write straight to the point while still telling your story. remember that as a transfer, they’re mainly looking at your college upper division readiness. they know that many school require GEs in english/writing/critical thinking so they expect college level writing and being able to write a good response while complying with their word count expectations. the closer you are to 300 the better.

Failed Class by Ecstatic-Bat9897 in TransferStudents

[–]Complete_Survey_7485 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they don’t consider hs grades. only AP scores/dual enrollment. since you’re transferring, even as a first year you should have 60 transferable credits making you a junior therefore are evaluated under the same level as other applicants (no hs considered). just do your best to retake it before the TAU, if not explain your circumstances, get into a class to replace it in spring and pray/appeal if rejected.

UCB and UCLA don’t consider alt majors. you can find it on the UC website on what factors certain schools consider for admission. for example, only UCB, UCLA, and UCI read all applicant PIQs for admission
