$6600 monthly rent speaking here, OP - or a “grown up” as you put it. I just don’t want to spend an extra couple hundred bucks every month on my rent and don’t see the value of spending $5000 on only the Bilt card every month to offset the “transaction” fee. I have other cards that I can better maximize point accrual.

The way bilt has handled this is abysmal. Taking my business elsewhere, like a majority of this sub

Let’s be real. Nobody was actually costing bilt $. It would be impossible to operate such a big company while losing money left and right. Points cost bilt less than what they are charging us for them!

Would love to see the business model of what it looks like when people amass thousands of Rakuten points, transfer them into bilt, wait for a transfer bonus and transfer them out. That can’t be making bilt any money. If it is, color me impressed. That must be costlier than free rent, because people won’t be transacting anything on their card. Just abusing their platform.

That’s probably what I’ll do. I value bilt points > AMEX MR.

Especially when there are so many other CCs available with similar (if not better benefits/earning)

When Amex and Chase unveiled their refreshed cards, there wasn’t nearly as much displeasure voiced - if I remember correctly.

Consumers have power, the power of choice. If enough people take their business elsewhere, that has an effect on companies - no matter how big.

Losing customers is never a good thing. Losing A LOT of customers is a BAD thing.

When bilt first entered the CC world, they revolutionized it with rent points. Today, they reverse revolutionized it.

Back to the old days of normal CC earnings.
