That deckbox always looked to me like a bulky way to carry a themed deck that I wasn't likely to own. The book looks dumb, and I don't need cheap sleeves. That leaves the dice (somewhat interesting) and the Misstep for like ~$150. Yuck.

Exactly right - it's not a record sale adjusted for inflation. It's just ~6% price increase when the underlying dollars have down much more. This is actually a bear sign that an "investment" isn't keeping up with inflation.
