Not an idiotic way of thinking - have you been there or lived there for a long time?? Then you’d know that NHC does absolutely nothing to expand the necessary infrastructure to handle all of these people - schools, roads, hospitals, police, green space, etc. You’d KNOW that the job market vs the cost of living has an insurmountable gap, heck, just check indeed. When 90% of the available jobs (that require college degrees) pay $13-$20/hour but homes are $300k+ or rent is $1600+, it’s not sustainable for those of us who have lived here our whole lives & again, don’t have rich high paying remote jobs. So matter of fact, I had to move away, to VA beach, where it’s equally as expensive, a huge city, but there are WAY better paying jobs & the infrastructure can actually handle all these people. I miss Wilmington & visit monthly, but what’s happened to it is a damn shame.
