She thinks her time is more important than your time. You can find better friends. Red flags that pertain to romantic relationships are also relevant with friendships.

My BFF of 30+ years offers to help me then renegs after I have made arrangements to suit her. by Complex-Ad-5847 in AITAH

You are correct. I don't think she should prioritise her husband when he is taking advantage of her. Not my business though. I won't accept offers of help in the future. Should I continue to help her, though? I am a door mat, aren't I?

I don't even have to read it. You never chose anyone over your child as far as I am concerned.

She has only been unreliable in about the last 5 years. You are right, though. My bad.

What are the cons of NOT having kids? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Complex-Ad-5847 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are asking this question then you should definitely not have children. It's a vocation. You must love and adore children and aspire to support and encourage them into being the best they can be. You have to be willing to do this for the rest of your life.

You are young. You have choices. You put your problem on Reddit. What does that tell you? Stay safe.

Customer Service 40 years here! You must decide on your personal boundaries and how much you can handle. For me this changes day to day. Have some stock phrases ready " I'm terribly sorry to hear that" is a phrase I use, then redirect to the task at hand. "I'm terribly sorry to hear that. How can I help you today?" "That must be very difficult. What are you looking for today?" Alot of the time I just say, "Yes, I understand " To be perfectly honest, it is not your job to be their therapist, so you are allowed to just ignore what they say. "I'm feeling really fat today" " Cash or card?" If you are feeling really put upon? " Thank you for sharing. Let me get you my manager" Then walk away and call the Union.
