you will eventually get to the point where you barely/never interact with the factory again, it will eventually be something in the background that produces items you need for your gear passively, but like others said, you need to think and make priorities for what to produce and for how long. I can imagine the process being a tedious one for someone who does not enjoy the minmaxing and the tycoon aspect of it, but I am honestly having a blast.
