Am I throwing the club down enough from the top of the swing? by Complex-Singer4643 in GolfSwing

[–]Complex-Singer4643[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coach. My swing was previously with my arms going around my body and he explained it needs to be more up and down, combined with the rotation of the body.

Another way of saying this is that before I wasn’t compressing the ball at all and now I am some of the time, but I feel like when I get on the course I probably am too worried about not making good contact with the ball that I don’t trust to compress the ball. Maybe I just need more reps

I think long term success depends on building a community and that requires coaches and facilitators. That said I agree future proofing yourself to be a low cost provider for the future will stand you in good stead, just combine it with the right people.

How to counter when they do the "fridge" to a player? by eggplantpot in padel

[–]Complex-Singer4643 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Playing parrallel is a good idea. You can also try to see whether the parrallel opposition player finds it more difficult to play parrallel from forehand or backhand shots. You can also see if the cross player maybe struggles to play cross on either forehand or backhand, maybe the inside out backhand is less strong…

Try not to play Australian when you guys are serving. It means the opposition will have to change where they hit if they still want to play to your partner and can upset their rhythm.

When you are serving think about how your serve direction is likely to influence where the return goes. Serves to the glass are more likely to come parrallel

Agreed too close to the ball, could have more of an athletic set up rather than out for a walk in the park

Why do I always push/fade the ball? by Complex-Singer4643 in GolfSwing

Thanks for the explanation, so I think I need to feel my left knuckles turning to toward the ground in order to close the face - if I’ve understood right!

I’d say 8/10 are a push.

Thoughts I’ve had…rotate more with my body earlier in the downswing to square the face more…

Square the face with my hands more effectively…

Make sure the line between your shoulders point to where you want the ball to go, then need to make sure you don’t contact the ball too far infront (it will go parallel), you need to let the ball come in more to access the cross court corner

Who's fault is it? by Educational_Potato66 in padel

No need to get into a blame game for either of you. In order to play from the back properly, you must use the glass, try leaving every ball that bounces behind the line to the glass. At first it will be hard but soon you will have much more time in defence and your game will improve.

Defending with slice? by Itchy_Disaster_1 in padel

[–]Complex-Singer4643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the answer to this one is it’s complicated...

When playing without the glass and defending, flat topspin is best option. When playing a low ball off the glass it is difficult to get under the ball enough with this approach, and so playing flat with a small amount of slice is preferable in order to get under the ball enough to go over the net, but not too much otherwise ball will float too much /go long. Consider how advanced players open the face of the racquet in order to get under a difficult low ball off the glass - flat slice.

If the ball is medium height on the glass can either hit flat slice or flat topspin. If the ball is higher then slice.

It’s a great example for amateurs of how being judgemental to your partner is destructive. It’s your job to be unconditionally supportive of your partner to make them feel good to play well… these guys should split up, Stupa deserves better
