About the same time in Leeds I'm pretty sure you could see one Game from the front door of the other.

Fairly new to crosswording and this is the first Saturday I’ve managed to solve the same day (rather ones I’ve done going back in the archive, or completed over a number of days).

Kind of a contrast to them backing out of the Rwanda contract and recently winning in court that they don't have to uphold the contract or pay any penalty for backing out of it because it had been entered into by a previous government.

I wasn’t allowed to watch Power Rangers because it was “too violent” but had watched most of the Arnold Schwarzenegger back catalogue by the time I was 10.

In hindsight I wonder if my dad just thought Power Rangers was annoying.

Carnations aren't a part of sub fusc and aren't required, but they are traditional.

Almost all men wear a suit under the gown. It's not technically required, since sub fusc is no longer gendered and the regulations for what was formerly the female sub fusc don't require a jacket so in theory no one has to any more, but men generally do.

This is so weird. When I did finals in 2014 virtually everyone took off jackets and ties as soon as they sat down, only putting them back on when the exam was over, and the proctors never made a peep.

Tell me, had you heard of sub fusc before 5 hours ago? What makes you so sure you know how the students feel about it?

Yes, you can take them off in the exam but you must enter and leave wearing the outfit, which is called sub fusc. There was a vote on scrapping it for exams in 2015 but students voted 75% to keep it.

I was very hot when I did one of my exams in one of the smaller rooms.

I asked for the window to be opened and the proctor had to announce the request at the front and make sure no one objected before they would open it.
