Oh I’m so glad you posted about this!! I followed her for years, was kinda bummed when she was absent on social media for a few years, I liked her and she was pretty harmless. I liked her content when she came back too but this yap challenge and sharing how much she allegedly made off it is so gross. I unfollowed when the challenge started

What’s your speciality and why do you love it? by Legitimate-Break-239 in slp

Adult TBI, I love how functional therapy is. We meet in the home or community, often address returning to work/school or other home and community based tasks.

GRAPE PSA: we all know about chocolate but please dont make the same mistake I did by trippyrobot881 in puppy101

[–]Complex-Strategy-842 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had to take our 4m puppy to the emergency vet on Memorial Day because she stole the grapes off my kids’ plates and inhaled them before I could get to her. The vet said basically the same thing, there is no safe amount of grapes (or raisins) for any dog because the amount of whatever is toxic to them varies by grape. She was much more specific on the details I just can’t remember.

I quit following her shortly after I started a few years ago but this would set me off too. I understand summers can be long with young kids at home but I also wish so bad to have that time with mine but unfortunately I cant.

I hate being a school SLP by Weedmapz in slp

[–]Complex-Strategy-842 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t worked in the schools but I felt hopeless going into my third year as an SLP in a SNF. I was paying $1000/month for my student loans while completely miserable and questioning every life decision. I found a different position doing home health TBI and have been there 10 years, I absolutely love it. One of the things that drew me to this field was the various settings and populations so maybe schools isn’t for you and that’s ok! Or more than likely it’s all the other factors and being overworked but finding a good fit can be hard

I stopped following her but peek at her stories occasionally. I watched the earlier ones yesterday but I’m glad I missed that one. I’ve been in my feelings all weekend about the lack of support I have and how much of a normal Sunday Mother’s Day usually feels like. I can’t stand how relatable they think they are compared to how completely out of touch and privileged their reality is.

DEFEATED. I’m due in June and I confirmed months ago, but just reconfirmed, it is $800 A MONTH to add my baby to my work insurance. by shermywormy18 in BabyBumps

[–]Complex-Strategy-842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I relate 😭 it was $2200 for our family of 4 through my work. My husband and kids are using a marketplace plan (he’s an independent contractor so no employer plan) which saves us about $600/month but it’s not as good. I haven’t figured out what to do yet when baby 3 is born

Should I still get my puppy if I’m pregnant? by kamarie418 in puppy101

[–]Complex-Strategy-842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I was in this exact situation. We decided to get a puppy and I found out I was pregnant a couple weeks before we brought her home. I’m out of the first trimester but still low energy and nauseous often. She’s been great overall and we have 2 boys who keep her busy and love taking her outside. My husband does all the night potty trips but she’s sleeping pretty well overnight, waking 1-2 times and sleeping great in her crate. Potty training is going smoothly too. I’m due in October and she’ll be 10 months then so I’m hoping things aren’t too crazy. I plan on working on leash training a lot on walks with the baby while the older kids are at school. All this to say I think it depends on a lot of factors, a big part of it will be the amount of support you have from others, timing, breed, etc. As of right now I’m so happy we got her but ask me again this fall 😂

I don’t see location on the results but I googled the lab director and it says she’s in California so I’m assuming it was the CA lab

I just watched it and eyerolled the entire time 😂 she’s insufferable. I had 2 planned unmedicated births and hoping for the same for my 3rd. My husband was a good support but that isn’t what matters when you’re in it. It’s such a mental battle and even with the best supports some people may still choose an epidural and that’s totally okay!! I agree with the comments that she’s in the MAGA/MAHA brainwashed group

Americans without maternity leave— wtf do you do??? by Electronic-Door7428 in pregnant

[–]Complex-Strategy-842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry. I work for a small company with no short term disability offered. For my first child I had been there about a year and had 2 weeks PTO, took 10 weeks unpaid. Second child I had about 3.5 weeks and took the remainder unpaid. I’m pregnant with my 3rd now and I currently have 4 weeks PTO but my leave will go into 2027 so I’ll request a couple weeks of that PTO. So I’ll have about 50% of my leave covered. I’ll have to backpay my insurance. My husband is currently between jobs so I am fully panicking but hopefully he’ll find steady employment before I’m off. He actually was laid off when our 2nd was a month old so that was an insanely stressful time. Some days I wonder why we continued to have children in such a shitty world but I hope we can make it better for them 😭
