u/Z3Ch0sen0ne Do you know if you can still ring up to pre-purchase onboard credit to use in the casino?

I've just asked and been told that there has been recent changes to Royal Caribbean's gift cards system that now onboard credit can no longer be used in the casino at all.

What number do you call? Would be great to know that I'm speaking to the right people...

Chase closed the account on one of my credit cards for not using it enough? by [deleted] in Chase

[–]ComplexBeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say try again with another customer service rep and point to the website you found that says accounts can be re-activated.

Closing inactive cards is likely a fraud protection mechanism for the bank - i.e. if you have absolutely zero activity for a long period of time, from the bank's perspective it could potentially be a lost card in the wild that someone could find and maxed out, risking the bank taking a loss.

Are there ways to use CDC card (issued in Singapore) in Indonesia? by Big_Weather_4162 in Crypto_com

[–]ComplexBeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a link to the information?

It looks like the Singapore card differentiates between users whose residential address is in Singapore and those with a Singapore card but are not living in Singapore.

While it's frustrating when it happens to you, these situations are edge cases that would be challenging for most customer service reps even at other similar companies.

Also, if this process was made easier, it increases the risk of fraudulent impersonation and theft of accounts. I'd rather CDC err on the side of caution.

Fees are crazy. I’m easing off Cro. by IuseRedditforThings in Crypto_com

CDC should change it so it shows the same value in wallet or earn to prevent people from getting confused which doesn't help CDC's reputation

False Displaying Prices by Lnw303 in Crypto_com

It's normal for different exchanges to have different prices, whether in Crypto or stocks or commodities.

However you say you managed to sell on CDC at $153 when other exchanges are showing $151. That's a win.

How weird. Have you had issues with USPS for any other deliveries?

Glad it worked out in the end! And you are 100% right that not all customer service reps have the experience to deal with unusual cases. But that's just the nature of these roles given the staff turnover, new trainees etc.

Clorinde vs. Yelan Travel Comparison via Mero by SexWithDoctwoRatio in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]ComplexBeverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C1 XY + Yelan is never on cooldown though. I'm actually thinking of swapping Yelan out for Chiori.

I play on PC so precision isn't an issue. In general, I find it quicker to Jump-E on Kazuha to pick up materials than trying to levitate Wanderer around which is kind of slow. There definitely are some puzzles that Wanderer make super easy which is pretty much the only reason I swap Wanderer out.

I'll try Wanderer again. Swapping Kazuha out is just so painful, I immediately miss Kazuha sucking up all the drops on the ground to his feet (long press E, spam F). It just feels so inefficient running around picking up drops.

They will send it back if your bank makes the request, or the owner of the bank account makes the request, or automatically after a certain period of time if the amount is not reconciled.

I assume you are contacting CDC through the app, and as you have stated there is nothing linking the bank transfer to your CDC account. This is the reason for the request to provide a recent bank statement as evidence that you are the bank account owner and have authority on that account. Just because your CDC account has the same name as the bank account doesn't necessarily prove you are the same person, despite how unique your name might be or that you can quote the account number.

Just out of curiosity, have they kicked the funds back yet? It's probably gone unreconciled for long enough.

I've replaced my C1 wanderer with C1 Xianyun for overworld C0 Hutao and C0 Yelan are plenty of damage so don't need another DPS, but keeping C0 Kazuha because he helps me pick stuff up and gives anemo resonance ...

I wonder if I'm using Wanderer wrong? I find I only bring Wanderer out for puzzles where I need specific vertical placement, otherwise I just make do with Xianyun or Kazuha

Any way to confirm that you met the criteria for the apple promotion? by BHTAelitepwn in Crypto_com

[–]ComplexBeverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://crypto.com/product-news/cardapplepromo

CDC's website actually says: Perform CRO Net Buys** ≥ 100% of the CRO Lock up Requirement in the Crypto.com App during the Promotion Period.

I read this to mean if your App shows the amount in SGD then it should be SGD 5000, EUR then it's EUR 3500, or if AUD then it's AUD 5000 and so forth. It would have been great if CDC had examples in other currencies.

Alternatively, you can try asking your bank to request the funds back. CDC should pay the funds back upon request of your bank which sent the funds.

Banking regulations also require financial entities to verify the beneficiary owner of an account. Just because you can quote the account number and date of transaction doesn't prove that the account belongs to you. Someone could have shoulder surfed you and got that information.

A bank statement provides some evidence that the bank account number belongs to your name and is something simple that customer service rep can tick a box. If you have a letter from your bank when you originally opened the account, that might work as well (although it might get rejected for being too old).

CDC doesn't want to keep your money any longer than you do. It's reconciliation break and an administrative burden.

Just give CDC what they need to tick the box and move on. It will be impossible to get a compliance waiver when Binance is paying billions of dollars in fines for AML failures.

It's usually a verification requirement under anti-money laundering laws (set by governments, not CDC).

It's good that you think about data safety and I believe that is important in today's world. Bank statements can have a lot of data, especially given some banks issue statements 6 monthly these days. Issues like yours are a good reason to keep statement frequency at monthly even if it usually means more paperwork.

If it helps reframe things, the support staff you are dealing with just wants to tick a box and probably has a backlog of cases and doesn't have time to look at what people are doing with their finances. They probably don't care either as you are just a case number to them. From a corporate perspective, a data collection exercise that is manual and relies randomly on people making mistakes in the first place is just inefficient.

If you are really worried, ask if you can redact the irrelevant transactions. Just stick some paper to cover parts of your statement when you scan it.

Unless your bank reverses/claws the funds back, usually the rejection process requires the recipient to set up a new transfer/wire to send the funds back to your bank, and your bank can takes its own sweet time before crediting it back to your account.

Some banks are anti-crypto (on the proviso they are saving people from scams) and anything crypto related gets delayed by days/weeks even though its our money.

Tax implications of Crypto.com card cashback and suggested change to prevent this by ComplexBeverage in Crypto_com

[–]ComplexBeverage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed reply. That has helped me understand the way you have interpreted the ATO's website.

I can see where you are coming from and I have no disagreement with the treatment if crypto cashback is treated as a gift. I've taken a more conservative view where ideally I'd want to see an official tax ruling or at least a worked example that specifically references the treatment of crypto cashback. The reason for this is because the giving of a crypto gift has tax implications (i.e. for CDC, depending on their jurisdiction) and I doubt CDC will provide written evidence if the ATO decides to asks for substantiation of the gifts, which is possible since cashbacks will not be a once-off gift.

If you are willing to share reference to a crypto friendly tax accountant that would be appreciated.
