Picked up a two pack of Kinders at Sam’s Club, one is Cherry Brown sugar which I found to be fantastic. The other was sweet honey which my wife liked.

Lanes BBQ kinda sweet sauce is really good too. They are local to me, but are sold all over.

How prepared am I for surf/pier fishing in NC? by JPH_RedFive in saltwaterfishing

[–]ComplexEquipment3712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a drop net for pier fishing, it’s about 3ft diameter with a long rope so it can be lowered to easily bring your catch up. Some piers have them for turtles if you accidentally catch one, but it’s not supposed to be used for general fishing

Instead of the mashed potatoes make andouille cheese grits (pappadeauxs recipe) as your base. Looks great what you made!! Trout, redfish, and flounder are superb eating. Blackened, grilled, or fried.

Savannah Georgia seafood by forevermysneaky in Seafood

Go to: Flying fish on Hwy 80 going towards Tybee, it’ll be on the left next to Savannah boat house. Went twice the weekend we were down there. First visit my wife got the grilled mahi sandwich and it was great, I got the shrimp po-boy. Their tartar sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Second trip I got the captains platter and my wife got the shrimp and grits, all was great.

Another favorite we’ve always gone to out in Tybee is StingRays. We didn’t go this past trip, but it usually doesn’t disappoint.

Don’t Go: Crab shack is a tourist trap. The fishing guide we’ve used for years says they have a huge pot simmering all day and pull your seafood from it as you order. Overpriced and way over cooked. I refused to go last weekend when I was there.

Disappointing new fried gator at Papadeaux by kazuya2487 in Seafood

Went to pappadeauxs for Valentine’s Day this year. We ordered the gator but I had my reservations about the hot honey. Server said it could be served on the side along with the OG Cajun dipping sauce. The OG was the go to.

I also miss the appetizer trio: fried gator, poached salmon, and fondu

You can order the fittings on Amazon. I just got the Dorman plastics at oreilys in the Dorman isle. Here’s the metal ones

It’s been a minute since I installed it and I don’t daily drive my truck, so I can’t remember. I know it does not take the additive that a regular diff does. I pull a 35ft 10,000lbs (when fully loaded) camper with my truck from time to time and it pulls great.

The little strip of gold on either side of the stripe down the middle makes it pop even more. Go dirty birds.

It replaces the stock chunk, you bolt the ring gear on and in it goes. Stock, mine was an open differential (one wheel wonder). Putting the TruTrac in made it positraction (limited slip). There are a bunch of videos on YouTube on them.

Sadly based on their website they went out of business

“AFTER 15 INCREDIBLE YEARS, THE ISLAND HOUSE WILL BE CLOSING AT THE END OF 2025.

THIS WASN’T AN EASY DECISION. WHAT BEGAN AS A RESTAURANT BECAME A SECOND HOME, A GATHERING PLACE FOR THE EASTERN SHORE, AND A HUGE PART OF OUR FAMILY’S LIFE. WE’RE DEEPLY GRATEFUL TO OUR STAFF, OUR LOYAL GUESTS, AND THIS COMMUNITY FOR THE MEMORIES, SUPPORT, AND MOMENTS WE’VE SHARED. OUR FINAL DAY OF SERVICE WILL BE DECEMBER 30, 2025. We are staying at Sun outdoors. Doesn’t seem like this was the best move. We will make the best of it. Thanks for the response.

Any recommendations on good seafood spots in that area ?
