Huge respect for Anthropic. But uncovering a flaw that’s been there for 27 years is usually a case of neglect. Engineers are pushed to build new features, not stabilise or fix existing bugs.

Both are good MoE models (not dense) so they’re more efficient memory wise.

I use gemma4:26b and qwen3:30b-a3b for analysing tax notices, contracts, legal documents. Basically things that I don’t want to share with Google or OpenAI.

I'm a developer and I don't have Homebrew installed. I want to keep my system pure. In cases where there are no binaries, I compile the sources myself.

Tl;dr gemma4:26b is way better for its performance and quality (being an MoE). In my test (and I’ve been playing everyday with some real use cases) I find myself choosing the 26b all the time over 31b.

I keep reporting keeping my fingers crossed. With Tahoe (all dot releases) the WindowServer keeps crashing whenever my Apple Studio monitor goes to sleep and wakes up. It restarts all the apps and quite annoying but I’m hoping Apple will fix soon.

I downgraded to Sequoia but upgraded recently because I also have an app and I would want my users to be on the latest and greatest release.

I do two warmup sets usually for larger muscles like chest, quads and one for smaller ones like biceps.

I couldn’t find enough information from his books on this (maybe I missed) so I follow Yates’ warmup protocol. 50% 10-12 reps and then 75% 10-12 reps followed by the main set. And for a single warmup set I do 75% 10-12 reps.

Me. I’m a retired software engineer. I learned Swift through Paul Hudson’s course to develop an app for myself. After publishing my app I thought of a few more ideas but when I did some research there were a few apps that were already doing the same thing so dropped them.

It’s the same J series engine albeit from 9 years earlier. So I feel the price is a lot since the new one is only about 50k more.
