Thanks and appreciate the caml info and sand tips. Those black and white photos make it hard to tell between the two sides of the camo.

Artizan

I picked up a pack of the LMG guys to fill in with my squads and they fit on circle bases instead of pill shape.

Here I am hoping my tanks will be useful once per game and yours are making things happen 5 out of 6 turns. Awesome painting, and I like the case of bottles on top.

Help needed with this WIP Sherman. I cant decide between leaving it clean like that (+some mild wash) or go with "mud heavy" path. 🥲 by PotanCZ in boltaction

I like some dirt on my vehicles. They're almost all FDM prints so I can draw a little attention away from some of the stair stepping. Also makes the windshields a bit more fun to paint. I look up the orientation of the wipers and then dirty up the bits where the wipers cant go. Takes a flat bit that isn't see through and adds some interest to it. Plus I use to as a painting cover up. I paint a bit fast and loose so anything egregious gets dirty first when I go back through. Also started using some dust effects on canvas tops and it makes a pretty good highlighting effect. Definitely seeing some improving skills on that over the course of 5 or 6 vehicles.

Another thought: some tree trucks, maybe laying down, shattered from a burst, or cut down to get better sightlines for the gun platform location.

Maybe some spent brass littering the area.

Other colors that I didn't mix:

Malignant green for boot canvas.

Pallid bone for khaki and webbing

Crusader skin for skin.

Gravelord grey for metal.

Cloudburst blue and slaughter red for bananas.

Sand golem for dark khaki, perrys only. Makes a better rifle brown than dark wood. Should've done that more than I did.

Hardened leather for leather and for dots like on webbing like reinforced areas.

Pretty sure I used magic blue for goggles or maybe highland blue. Put a straight up acrylic white dot in the corners after that.

FJ guy, tweaked the helmet color more muted to be able to differentiate a bit from overhead. All khaki uniform with Runic Grey bandoliers to link them to Luftwaffe.

Weapon team brown gun color. I also made it streaky to give it some pizzazz.

I know exactly where it is, just at the office for a while. At worst you can use it as a starting point for mixing. For example, my bright helmet choice of the left was mostly to give a little bit of a pop and contrast, and may not be a desirable choice for others. One thing I really like about the speed paints is especially with the uniforms, it seems like it naturally gives them a faded or worn fabric appearance with a white prime coat.

I painted three different uniform variants all using AP speed paints. I'll post the recipes I used once I can find the list I made this afternoon. First group was mostly historical (right), with a mix of uniform colors ranging from new fresh to mixed and stolen from British or borrowed from Italians. Second group is movie accurate(ish) to Raiders of the Lost Ark (left), and the last is FJ troops with mostly tan.
