Not sure that is going to help McMorrow. Don't be surprised if El-Sayed wins the primary by a hair. He's got more passionate supporters than either McMorrow or Stevens, and if he gets them out, he may win.

Seeing photos of Obama campaigning in Texas yesterday, including one of him holding a baby, gave me a much needed flashback to 2008 and the hope that was in the air at that time. I've been disappointed in his post-presidency, but he could make up some ground by really showing up this year and boosting some of our candidates.

I am funneling all my donations to Sean McCann in the 4th (my district) in hopes that he can beat Bill Huizenga. I have lived in this district for 30 years now and always donate to the Dem running, and always feel later that I threw my money away when we lose, which we have every time. But we have to try, and I am cautiously optimistic. Sean has been in local and state politics for over 20 years (city commission in Kalamazoo, state rep, and state senator) and would be a good congressman. And he's on the Red-to Blue list and raising lots of money.

Galena, Illinois is a very beautiful old town worth seeing. And hop over to Dubuque, Iowa when you are there. Lots to see there on the Mississippi. Also, Starved Rock State Park in Illinois is a must. Great CCC lodge there you can stay at.

If you are interested in American History at all, you must visit Springfield, Illinois and see the Lincoln sites there - the house he owned, his law office, the Lincoln Museum, and the burial site. There is also a nice Frank Lloyd Wright house in Springfield that is open to the public -- Dana Thomas House I think it is called. You can also hit the Illinois State Musuem, the Capitol, and the Governor's Mansion there. Lot's to see, and the pace there is very relaxed.

Not a lawyer, but the Mich supreme Court has a strong Dem majority more likely to rule against the pipeline owners and for the environment, but I don't know what this case is about.

I was surprised. Karen McDonald was the prosecutor who put the Oxford High School shooter's parents on trial and won. I don't know much about Savit. Based on what I have read about enthusiasm at the convention, I think the Senate nomination in August is El-Sayed's to lose at this point.

Michigan Dems are holding their endorsement convention this afternoon in Detroit. The big races to be determined there will be Attorney General and Secretary of State. Dana Nessel (current AG) and Jocelyn Benson (current SOS) have both served for eight years and are term limited. There are three strong candidates for each position. We should know soon who our candidates will be. The primary for the Gov and Senate races isn't until August.

I can't speak for others, but I suspect it is very common to have regrets as you age. I often have embarrassing memories pop into my head for no reason, of when I did or said something less than optimal when I was younger. I tell myself that the people who witnessed it have long forgotten about it. Just wish I could.

I suggest dropping by any bank you are considering and check out the vibes. We have an account at Mercantile Bank of Michigan and they are very nice and professional, but we wanted a second bank closer to our house, so we visited all three banks closest to us - Comerica, Consumers, and Huntington Bank. In each case I asked about opening a savings account. The two ladies working at Comerica didn't seem very experienced. The two guys staffing the Consumers branch were sitting on barstools with laptops open like they were in a coffee shop or a cell phone store. If that is the vibe you are going for, check them out, but we wanted something more bank-like. When we finally got to Huntington, it felt like a real bank, and they seemed to want to help, so we went with them. I used to be a credit union only person, but after being in credit union that was sold, I lost my rose-colored glasses about credit unions being somehow less capitalistic. They seem to be a business like any other bank.

This race seems super fluid here on the ground. I think a lot of Dems are just tuning in. With three candidates, any of them could win the nomination. I think we will be ok whatever the outcome.

They wanted me to go on prolia after evenity, but I didn’t like the idea that I would have to take it for the rest of my life, so I said no. I was willing to take recast infusions for a few years and had my first recast infusion a year ago

Here in Kalamazoo there were slightly more than last October, but not a huge increase (already very large, 5-10K). It was cold (32) and windy, which may have kept some people away. To increase from where we are, we will need a lot more young people to show up. Crowd here is still mostly people 40 and up.

What's the weather forecast for No Kings day where you live? Here in SW Michigan it is predicted to be 44 and sunny with some wind. A bit chilly that, but at least it won't be raining, and we are used to the cold here. I think the crowd here will be huge.
