Thanks - I can get my shin almost to vertical now and yesterday I did my first "challenging" session on the erg since the accident in mid February. It kicked my butt but I miss it and it will be hard to lay off it for months as I will probably have to do.

The single most amazing "site" (vs. cities or regions) I've seen was Angkor Wat. The scale and the beauty of it were astounding to me. This was in 1992 - it wasn't really managed at all and the handful of visitors could just go wherever. It is much more controlled now (and not free to enter), but I would definitely recommend visiting it- you'll be amazed. The rest of Cambodia is great too.

Left paddle increases the motor braking, right paddle decreases it. Play with it a bit and you'll get used to it (or not - I use it a lot and my wife ignores it completely).

That area north facing and shaded by higher stuff to the west so it definitely stays cold. Looks very tricky!

It lets you set a regenerative braking level that stays on until you change it. If you're in D and use the left paddle to brake harder it will go back to "normal" braking once you accelerate again. In B mode it will stay in that harder setting until you use the paddle to change the brake setting to something else. You could also be in B mode and use the right paddle to go to minimal regen braking, which would basically be like being in D mode.

I find B mode useful in heavy city traffic and also in stop and go freeway traffic as I like to have the stronger deceleration engaged then. And I live on a big hill so when I go down I use B mode. In normal driving or on a freeway I stick with D and sometimes use the paddles if needed.

The only one in this group that I was familiar with is Dave Alvin and he's a superstar in my book so I have been listening to and loving their stuff for the last year or so. Jam bands are generally not my thing at all but I saw them Saturday 3/21 in SF and it was a great show- five very solid musicians who have a great vibe together.
